Floodlight 20 LED | Modularity
Standards for typical applicationsGood luminaire systems are easy to use, which is why the Floodlight 20 LED features a series of basic configurations for wide-area and plaza lighting that are proven in practice and commonly required.
A modular concept for individualityEach luminaire can at the same time be individually configured, because each consists of a luminaire housing and replaceable LED unit with bracket or mast fixing connection. Various light distribution patterns, light colours and lumen packages can also be selected.
The modular system also reduces stock-keeping complexity and makes adaptations to later building changes easy for planners – only the LED unit needs to be exchanged, not the complete luminaire.
Variable applications due to modularityA practical kit-based system. The modular concept of the Floodlight 20 LED provides planners with genuine selection options.
A consistent fundamental concept.
The frame, LED unit and bracket can be
individually configured for each luminaire.

Floodlight 20 LED – available lumen packagesConfiguration according to needs: each construction size can be equipped with various lumen packages. For mounting heights of 2 to 14 m.
Important: the rated luminous flux is decisive
Sometimes only the LED module luminous flux is declared for luminaires. This is a purely calculative value for orientation purposes, and mathematically specifies how much lumi-nous flux a luminaire generates with a specific level of power consumption. In practice however the rated luminous flux is decisive, specifying the actual measured luminous flux of a luminaire or module.

Greater well-being with high quality of lightGood for the eyes: thanks to homogeneous illumination, the Floodlight 20 LED creates inviting environments.
A greater feeling of safety in outdoor areasLight creates moods, is able to arouse well-being and promotes a feeling of safety – if the quality of light is right. With the Floodlight 20 LED, light becomes a design tool for atmospheres thanks to the outstanding quality of the lens-based optics of the LED module, developed by Siteco.
The precisely aligned lenses scatter the high luminance levels of the LEDs to achieve a highly homogeneous distribution of luminance, thus producing very good quality of light for good visual conditions and a positive feeling of safety and security in primary applications such as parking lots, roads and building vicinity areas.
A high quality of stay for indoor areasWhether for railway halls, display areas or shopping arcades, the high light quality of the Floodlight 20 LED with uniform distribution of luminance and good colour render-ing enables indoor applications with a high quality of stay.
Light colours emphasise atmosphereEmphasising a particular ambience succeeds very well with light colours, and the Floodlight 20 LED features three variants: warm white for relaxation areas, terraces and historic sites, and neutral white and daylight white for parking areas, roads, public squares and sports facilities.
Control for individual parametrisationThe precise setting of illuminance levels is very important to harmoniously integrate a space into its surroundings, or else emphasise it with higher illuminance levels. Precise control electronics enable the exact modification of luminous flux for situationally adapted light.
Special: sport with HDTV broadcasting
The SSN light distribution of the Floodlight 20 midi LED has been specifi-cally designed for sports halls, arenas and playing fields. With symmetric narrow distribution, this light distribution characteristic focuses on vertical illuminance, thus providing optimum visual comfort not only on location but also with TV broadcasting for spectators watching screens at home.
Special features
— the flicker-free light of the Floodlight 20 LED enables HDTV-compliant recordings with super slow motion
— good colour rendering (CRI > 80) for intensive visual experiences

Floodlight 20 LED | Control
Individually optimising efficient applicationsCounteracting costs: further savings potential with Floodlight 20 LED light management.
Important – consideration of the complete system
The dimming values, luminous flux and lifespan of a luminaire are interdependent. Low luminous flux and therefore low power consumption can significantly extend the service life of an LED unit. It's also important to calculate with realistic maintenance factors during planning, and page 26 outlines this topic in detail to provide help. Over-dimensioning of the lighting installation is prevented in this way and luminaire use is also optimised in the planning process.
The basis is very good LED technologyOnly good LED luminaires save money in the long run compared to luminaires with conventional lamps or simple LED floodlights, as demonstrated by the Floodlight 20 LED: — their low power consumption and the high efficiency of the luminaire system (up to 120 lumens per watt) cut energy needs and costs.— the low-maintenance luminaire concept with long maintenance intervals reduces maintenance costs. — the long rated service life of up to 100,000 operating hours (Floodlight 20 LED micro, L84/B10 @ ta = 25° C) minimises long-term investment needs.
Control technology functional packages in detail
Fine tuning: coordinated control technologyAll Floodlight 20 LED versions can be used in simple on/off mode. More flexibility is provided though with control technology with versions for all light colours and light distribution characteristics, thereby exploiting the complete design and savings potential of the Floodlight 20 LED range. Floodlight 20 LED | Mounting
Mounted with a few twists of the wristVariability doesn't have to be complicated, as demonstrated by the Floodlight 20 LED. Modules suitable for the specific construction sizes are inserted and electrically connected with just a few hand movements. The slender construction also reduces the weight of all variants in this extensive luminaire range.
No problems even with difficult-to-access locationsThe Floodlight 20 LED features two mounting methods, as it's also possible to connect the luminaire housing first and then the LED unit afterwards. This is a particular benefit for difficult-to-access mounting locations with high mounting heights. Mounting can be simply carried out by a one person.
Simple mounting for professionalsA technician's favourite. The intelligent design and outstanding quality of materials make installing the Floodlight 20 LED child's play.

ESD-protected constructionThe construction of the Floodlight 20 LED prevents electrostatic discharge that may damage the LEDs and control unit. Both components can be replaced on-site by the installer, meaning this must not be done on an ESD-safe workbench as is normally mandatory. LEDs with their semiconductor technology are highly sensitive to electrostatic discharge.
The extent of this is shown in the following comparison: people are able to sense discharge from 3000 V, but LEDs can be damaged from low voltage. This damage, initially not visible, can im-pair the performance of the system and shorten its service life.

Precise alignment. The mounting points on luminaire
housings and connections are designed as a locking
mechanism, setting the inclination in 5° steps from
0 to 350°. The setting is secured with twist protection.
Variant 2: The luminaire housing is connected
The luminaire housing is fixed to the wall or cross-arm
without the module.

Floodlight 20 LED | Quality
Extended use due to more diodesThe Floodlight 20 LED has more LEDs compared to other floodlights in its class, and more diodes mean greater flexibility with the parameters of power consumption and rated luminous flux. The lower the current feed the less load the system is subjected to – providing increased service life.
Decoupled ECG and LED unitThanks to the modular construction, the ECG in the carrier housing is decoupled from the LED unit. Its heat is separately dissipated and the electronic components are relieved, and maintenance work can be carried out independently on each component. If requirements change, the ECG and LED unit can be simply replaced.
Very good thermal managementThe uniform distribution of LEDs prevents excessive heat generation at single locations, and LEDs are directly connected to the luminaire casing. A special filling material ensures consistent heat dissipation, and cooling ribs on the upper side of the luminaire extend the cooling surface. These blend harmoniously into the frame of the luminaire housing and cannot be seen from typical observer angles.
Long-term use with tested qualityQuality for the long run: the quality of materials and art of engineering make the Floodlight 20 LED highly durable and future-safe.
Robust and weather-resistant— the diecast aluminium housing and optical enclosure of toughened safety glass gives the Floodlight 20 LED high durability and toughness (IK08)— the light module is sealed and the complete luminaire system has very high tightness (IP 66)— the surface with weather-resistant Siteco® metallic grey (DB702S) powder coating has a dirt-repellent effect

Better than requisite standards – controlled Siteco qualityQuality needs to prove itself. This is why all Siteco outdoor luminaires are subjected to stringent testing, and loads are signifi cantly higher than specifi ed in appropriate standards. The test results convincingly verify the strengths of the Floodlight 20 LED.
Thermal stabilityThe thermal management and decoupling of the electrical components functions reliably: all Floodlight 20 LED modules can be used outdoors up to 50° C and indoors up to 40° C at 100% luminous fl ux.
High vibrational stabilityThe Floodlight 20 LED complies with maximum loads of more than 250,000 vibration excitations as specifi ed for bridges and motorways. This means maximum stability for the luminaire and connections against falling construction elements.
High snow load stabilityPressure loads from snow or weights has no effect on the Floodlight 20 LED. With 400 kg/m² the luminaire complies with the standard for snow load zones for snow heights to 1.5 m.
Smooth operation with voltage fl uctuationsThe 30 kV switching and lightning protection resistance of the Floodlight 20 LED is fi fteen times higher than minimum requirements specifi ed in the luminaire standard. This means that with lightning impact, less luminaires are in danger compared to alternatives with lower protection potential. This is an important contribution to long lifespans particularly in protection class II power grids where luminaires cannot be equipped with overvoltage components. Even in protection class II installations with insulated luminaire mounting on plastic, concrete or timber masts, the maximum level of 30 kV signifi cantly exceeds requisite minimum protection levels of 8 kV.

The Floodlight 20 LED features a series of basic configurations for wide-area and plaza lighting that are proven in practice and commonly used.
Each luminaire can also be individually configured, and systematic structure of the 12-digit product numbers makes selection simpler for planners, e.g. 5XA7661A1B3A.

Floodlight 20 LED | Maintenance Factor
Floodlight 20 LED maintenance factorLuminaires must be maintained due to the technologically unavoidable reduction in luminous flux and natural soiling. The maintenance factor takes into account the various factors that can negatively affect the light emission quantity of a lighting installation.
The aim is to provide the required quantity of light until the end of the intended useful life. The higher the calculated maintenance factor of a luminaire is, the more efficient is the lighting system.
MF = LLMF x LLF x LMFMaintenance

maintenance factor
Parameters for calculating the maintenance factor:
1. LLMF (lamp lumen maintenance factor)
The LLMF specifies the LED luminous flux of a luminaire in relation to start and end of the service life. This value must be set to "1" upon activation of constant luminous flux. The more precise this value is specified the more efficiently a lighting system can be planned.
In practice, best results are achieved if the ambient temperatures correspond to the average temperatures of towns and cities. In this way, over-dimensioning the luminaire installation is avoided.
2. LSF (lamp survival factor)
With LED lighting this factor is usually set to "1". It is assumed that a lighting unit no longer functioning is immediately replaced.

E3/E4 > 7 m 0.97 0.96 0.95 0.94
3. LMF (luminaire maintenance factor)according to a survey from Mott MacDonald The LMF stipulates the light output ratio of a luminaire in new condition compared to a specific date of use. The calculation basis is the cleaning cycle, the mounting height and the environmental zone where the luminaire is located. It is assumed that the luminaires used have an IP value of 65 or greater.
Distribution of environmental zones:Surroundings of lighting systems (according to CIE 150:2003):
E1: nature protection areas, national parks etc. E2: undeveloped areas, open land, greenage areas etc.E3: suburbs, rural areas etc. E4: densely developed/urban areas, industrial areas etc.

If a B10 value is compared to a B50 value, the
B10 value usually achieves a longer service life
with the same L value. The lower the spread of
the L value compared to B10 and B50 with the
same service life, the higher is the LED quality.

Floodlight 20 LED | Technical Information
Light according to needs thanks to intelligent controlIntelligent control functions are a part of all Siteco LED outdoor luminaires, and such intelligence integrated into the LED operating electronics enables the efficiency potential of LEDs to be exploited even further. The control functions make use of the outstanding feature of LED light sources of reducing luminous flux without loss to increase energy and cost savings.
Power reduction, overheat protection
Advantages: — Wired power reduction (twilight switching)
— Two factory-set illuminance levels (complete darkness/twilight)
— With the micro version to now, the Basic functional package consists of overheat protection only
Power reduction, overheat protection, constant luminous flux control, flexible luminous flux parameterisation, time-dependent luminous flux control, digital communication interface
Advantages: — Precise configuration of the luminaire to the ambient conditions or application is possible
— Additional functions for optimising light points can be set
— Activated via DALI magic — No further control components required
— Constant luminous flux control is not activated in the standard luminaire version. Can be activated via DALI magic
The control functions of the Floodlight 20 LED are contained in two different functional packages: Basic and Plus. Luminous flux values are either factory-set (the Basic version) or individually configured via OSRAM DALI magic (the Plus version). The Plus version offers the widest spectrum for efficiently controlling LED luminaires according to requirements.

Floodlight 20 LED | Technical Information
Performance packages of the Floodlight 20 LED
Power reduction
All Siteco LED luminaires are equipped with an
intelligent connection for detection of power
reduction via a switched control wire (230 V).
Factory setting with power reduction via control
wire: Lst = 0 V > 100 % luminous flux (full night);
Lst = 230 V > 50 % luminous flux (twilight).
The switching logic can be reversed with DALI
magic for Plus version luminaires. With no control
wire the luminaire emits 100% luminous flux
(connection remains free).
Time-dependent luminous flux control
The luminaire calculates an artificial (virtual)
midnight based on the nominal operating period
of the previous five days. On the basis of this
midnight value, time windows can be defined in
which the luminaire is reduced in one or two steps
to freely settable lighting levels. Because of the
constant internal updating of nocturnal operating
hours, the luminaire adapts automatically to the
seasonally varied burning durations.
Time-dependent luminous flux control
By the binding to fixed wattages with convention-
al lamps (e.g. 70 W, 100 W, 150 W) only in rare
cases is the calculated result of a lighting
installation achieved. The next higher wattage
must be specified, the system is overlit and
energy is wasted. With flexible luminous flux
setting the light level can be adapted individually
and precisely to the calculated result. Both
switch-on value (full night) and reduction values
(twilight) can be adapted according to needs.
Overheat protection
The temperature of the LED module and
operating electronics is permanently monitored.
With excessive temperature the lighting level and
consumption is automatically reduced and the
luminaire can cool down. When a lower tempera-
ture threshold is attained the luminaire returns to
the original lighting and consumption level. This
function is purely a protective function to secure
the long service life despite possible operating
errors (e.g. unintended daytime switching with
very high ambient temperatures or with direct
sunlight). During operation within the predefined
specifications, luminaire temperatures remain
safe.
Digital communication interface
This function represents the interface between
the luminaire and the external world. It enables all
required parameters such as lighting level,
reduction control and automatic night-time
reduction to be modified according to needs via
DALI magic (+ software). Connection to higher-
level control systems is also via this interface
(on request).
Constant luminous flux control
LEDs are also subject to luminous flux
degradation with progression of the service life.
This must be taken into account in the planning
phase and the system must be correspondingly
over-planned. This leads to excessive illuminance
and energy waste. Siteco constant luminous flux
control counteracts this degradation, and
continuously adds to the output of the LEDs.
Luminous flux remains constant over the service
life. The light source degradation factor is 1, the
maintenance factor is increased. In this way, over-
planning is no longer necessary. This means
energy-optimised and standard-compliant lighting
at all times.
