These words indicate possession/ownership

The difference between English and French

In English the selection of the word depends on the gender of the OWNER!
French
C’est le chien de Sophie
C’est SON chien.
In French the gender of the word depends on the gender of the item owned!
These describing words explains ownership
Like all adjectives, they agree with the noun they describe.
They always come in front of the noun they describe.
The adjective always agree with the item owned, not the owner.
