Re: Employment Opportunity
Dear Sir/Madam:
As a graduate from Northern Colleges and Mushkegowuk councils Process Plant Control Operator program, I am presently seeking employment and I am enclosing my resume for your consideration. I have also graduated from Northern College for Industrial millwright in 2010 and am currently registered as a Level 1 millwright apprentice.
As you will note, I have gained experience as a labourer while employed on contracts through Dumas, Levert Personnel, NORFAB, Insulcana and A.C.M.S.. I have my basic common core modules U0000, U0001 and U0002 and my surface mill common core. I completed CATDAT and obtained certification in Confined Spaces, 5 Point Fall Arrest, First Aid and ATX. I have also updated WHMIS and Norcat. I possess a valid G license and have operated a D5 dozer, bobcat/skidsteer and forklift.
Employers consider me to be a safe, conscientious worker who constantly strives to complete my tasks in the safest possible manner. Never have I lost any work time due to injury. Besides being safety conscious, I follow instructions keenly, pay attention to detail and am quite determined to complete my work efficiently. Finally, I am in good physical condition.
I am the creator/moderator for a Facebook group “Jobs in Timmins” that currently has over 4,300 members. We share job leads, training program info, and help with employment searches. We’ve had quite a few successes and I’m quite proud of my group and its efforts.
My goal is to work in an inclusive and diverse work environment. I am of Aboriginal ancestry, and self identify as Metis. I also have experience working in a cross cultural setting.
I hope that we can meet to discuss my skills at length. Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Len Ellis
