LCPs 2012 Preparation

National decision making• Happens 4 times a year (Presidents

meeting)• A complex process with many stakeholders• Requires strong cooperation of different

entities• Involves huge amount of information• Is not a perfect process• Needs huge proactivity from every

participant

The National Plenary• Consists of LCPs of all the entities• Is the final decision making entity in

AIESEC Mexico• Holds MC accountable• Holds the member LCs accountable• Oversees the health and stability of

the national association• Is driven by the proactivity of the LCPs

Other key players in the process

• Subcommittees: preparing decision making, research, information, recommendations

• Reporting: helps the plenary to hold each other accountable

• SG & BoA: provides input to the plenary about the MC and the organisation.

• MC: hosting the process, managing subcommittees, providing input to the Plenary

Basicaly: every other stakeholder is INPUT to the plenary its up to the plenary to decide how to use it

Your role as LCP• Represent your LC, but also keep the national

perspective in mind• Go after all the information you need to make a

responsible decision• Always take the time to form your opinion about

the legislated issues• Take ownership to make difficult decisions if needed• Follow the process• Form constructive proposals, be proactive

• Selected by end of December 2011 and will have a transition with current Subcommittee members

5!• Pleno Derecho – completed all criteria• Probatorio – Did minimum 3 ICX and 3 OGX• Reprobado – Didn’t fulfill some crtiteria• Extension Oficial – new entities which have

yet to gain membership • Iniciativa de Expansion– entities which

have yet to fulfil criteria necessary to be Official Expansions

Which subcommittee supports the MC in creating and monitoring the budget?

Finance Subcommittee!

• Section 6 of the compendium• FSC meets throughout the year to

support the MC VPF in reviewing the budget and funds, monitoring the finances of Conferences, reviewing member debt, and supporting MC in making major financial decisions

Which subcommittee monitors the entire National Decision Making process?

Legislation Subcommittee!

• Legislation SC meets at each national decision making period to compile the legislative booklet and compile all the motions and mandates

• Section 1 of the compendium

What does Bid mean?

Conference Application!

• 4 different Conferences to be bid• Hosts should be chosen with 1 year

in advance.

Meetings & Bids Subcommittee!

• Section 7 of the Compendium• Review current Conferences, the bids

of upcoming ones, support the closing of previous, and review the compendium.

Steering Team!• Group of 4 or 5 LCPs • Term: January 2012 – December 2012

– Applications will be re-opened during December

– Meet physically in twice a year (One during January 7th before CONAL!)

• Support MC in designing, implementing and driving National strategy across the network
