What are LEED certified buildings supposed to do? • Lower operating costs and increase asset value. • Reduce waste sent to landfills • Conserve energy and water • Be healthier and safer for occupants • Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions • Qualify for tax rebates, zoning allowances and other incentives in hundreds of cities

RP - Regional Priorities – 4 points •  Incentivize the achievement of credits that address geographically specific environmental priorities •  Existing LEED credits that earn an additional point if the prioritized credit itself is earned •  Specific to a geographic region •  They are only available to projects certifying under LEED 2009 rating systems •  Each project has six RP credits available; however, project teams may earn only four of the six

Innovation in Design – 5 points •  Exemplary Performance above LEED requirements (up to 3 points) •  Innovative performance in green building categories not specifically addressed by the LEED •  Pilot credit – attempt credits proposed in future versions of LEEED (up to 4 points)

principles • Demonstrate a solid and current foundation in green building principles and practices • Cost $150 / $200

LEED AP (no specialty) • Now considered “Legacy LEED AP”. • Path to LEED AP+ options:

• Exam for specialty ($150 / $250) • Continuing ED for specialty (current webinar series) • Do nothing

• Draft for future versions of LEED have stated that LEED projects must have at least one principal individual who is a LEED AP+
