Up and Coming Markets
BRAZIL: Legislation is being fueled by the
need for tax dollars during an important economic slow down,
but the large country's many interests have a way of slowing
things down. Sports Betting is predicted to
come on the scene first.
MEXICO:
New Legislation is in the works, but many I’ve interviewed are
skeptical of it's end result.
COLOMBIA:
The country is on a positive dynamic…
ARGENTINA:
Is the strongest Legal Market today, but the challenges in Argentina are always two:
A) understanding the rules; and B) trying to work within complex /
economic constraints
PERU:
In 2006, 95% of the Peruvian gaming market was illegal, they
have turned this around and today it is a positive example for
the region.
CHILE: We can expect an expensive
public bid process to begin during Dec 2015.
Seven (7), 15 year concessions will be awarded some time next year. The risks in Chile are two:
A.) Pending reform to the Smoking Ban; B.) The Illegal Slot
Market
PANAMA:
A newly appointed 5.5% tax on Cash-out's has hit hard an already struggling and over
saturated casino market.
