Tips On Resume Building

• Keep it simple–White professional paper– Think of the type of job• Create separate CVs (academic, community,

administrative, etc.)

• Avoid redundancy• Do not lie– Employers do background checks

• Make your resume STANDOUT–Be creative but professional

• Sell yourself–Highlights your skills to your best advantage

• REMEMBER, most employers will scan your resume in 10 seconds–GET TO THE POINT–NOT TOO WORDY

mistakes• Use powerful action verbs–Use “Performed” vs “Responsible for

performing”• Double check your timeline• Update regularly
