Everyone deserves high quality medical care

MalariaMalaria

Each year malaria causes 350 to 500 million illnesses

Malaria kills one million people annually

Malaria symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting and other flu-like

symptoms

When drugs are not available the infection leads to coma, life-threatening anemia, and death

Poor quality medicines are common across Africa

More than 30% of medicines on sale are counterfeit, with some pills containing

nothing more than chalk or water

90% of deaths will be in Africa, mostly in pregnant women …

… and children

`In the worst affected countries average life

expectancy has fallen by twenty years

A child dies every 30 seconds from malaria

Malaria No More

Malaria No More is determined to end malaria deaths. It provides mosquito nets, medicines, and

spraying

AidsAidsCurrently 33 million people are

living with HIV/AIDS

Since 1981, 65 million people have been infected with HIV, and AIDS has killed more than 25 million

people

Sub-Saharan Africa is more heavily affected by HIV and AIDS than any

other region of the world

In 2007, around 2 million children in Sub-Saharan Africa were living with

HIV

And a total of 22 million people were living with HIV

Last year, the AIDS epidemic in Africa claimed the lives of an estimated 1.5 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa

AIDS has created over 13 million orphans, most in sub-Saharan Africa

By 2010 there may be 42 million AIDS orphans

Aids

(RED) is an answer to an emergency

In just two years people have bought enough (RED) product

to impact over 2.5 million Africans’ life

TuberculosisTuberculosisTuberculosis is on the rise in many

countries

People living in conflict zones, like Chechnya, are vulnerable as they

battle against malnourishment and stress

Many doctors fled from the violence in Chechnya during WWII, leaving

clinics badly understaffed

Many people are at high risk of developing active TB due to poor

health facilities, lack of drugs, and limited access to healthcare

The World Health Organization predicts 30 million people will die of TB

and 300 million more will become infected in the next ten

years

Everyone deserves high quality medical care
