Why is it special?

It is really special because it’s the center of the world!

It is fantastic to be able to stand on two different hemispheres at the same time

If you come to Ecuador you must go to La Mitad del Mundo !!

Location

It is located in San Antonio, Quito.

Directions

It may take 41 minutes from Quito

1) Head north toward Francisco Cozar.

2) Turn left onto Francisco Cozar.

3) Turn right toward Guanguiltagua

4) Turn left toward Guanguiltagua

5) Turn right onto Guanguiltagua

6) Guanguiltagua turns slightly left and becomes F. Urrutia

7) Turn right onto Av. Eloy Alfaro

8) Take the ramp on the left

9) Continue straight

10) Continue straight onto Av Mariscal Sucre (Occidental)

11) Keep right to stay on Av Mariscal Sucre (Occidental)

12) At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Manuel Cordova Galarza

13) Slight right toward Manuel Cordova Galarza

14) Take the 1st right onto Manuel Cordova Galarza

15) At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Manuel Cordova Galarza

16) Turn right to stay on Manuel Cordova Galarza

17) La mitad del mundo is to your right.

there are 2 museums, one is inside the monument and the other is outside

Entrance tickets: $2.00 adults, $1.00 children/OAPs

Parking: $1.50

food: costs may vary but it is more expensive in there than outside la mitad del mundo

planetarium: $1.50

Ethnographic museum: $3.00 adults, $1.50 children
