Applicants interested in this program must meet one of the following criteria :
1) Both the applicant and the parents must have a nationality that is not Korean and have a Bachelor's
degree or be in the final year of the above degree program(or schedule to get until 28th Feb, 2018).
2) The applicant must have completed or be expected to complete 16 years of primary and secondary
education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a Bachelor's degree at the
time of application.
Ph.D
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria :
1) Both the applicant and the parent must have a nationality that is not Korean and have a Master's
degree or in the final semester of the above degree program(or scheduled to get until 28th Feb,
2018).
2) The applicant must have completed or be expected to complete 16 years of primary and secondary
education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a Master’s degree at the time
of application.
※ Students who have not graduated at the time of application must submit a certificate of graduation
before entering our graduate school. Otherwise the admission will be canceled.
Korean and English Language Proficiency Requirements
※ Only the Test score certified less than two years is valid up to the admissions deadline
※ (For Seoul Campus only) Applicants must obtain TOPIK Level 5 or above before dissertation examination

Seoul Campus
1) Obtained at least TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 4
2) Graduated (Bachelor's degree or higher) with a major in Korean in a foreign country
3) Attended university or graduate school in Korea for more than 2 years
4) Applicants for English Track : Test scores of TOEFL(PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80) or IELTS (6.0), TEPS
(550) or above are required.
5) The departments of Communication and Journalism :
In addition to clauses 1)~3) above, applicants must have TOPIK level 5 or above. (Applicants must
obtain TOPIK level 6 within 6 months after admission or get confirmation of Korean Language
ability from the two-third(2/3) of department professors)
6) The departments of Hotel Management :
In addition to clauses 1)~3) above, applicants must have TOPIK level 5 or above.
7) The department of Physics (Seoul Campus) :
Applicant who does not meet the conditions 1) to 3), can be enrolled in the graduate school as a
conditional admission. In this case, the applicant needs to complete Korean language courses of
the International Education and submit the related certificates to graduate school office.
8) The department of Chemistry (Seoul Campus) :
Applicant who does not meet the conditions 1) to 3), can be enrolled in the graduate school as a
conditional admission. In this case, the applicant needs to complete Korean language courses of
the International Education and submit the related certificates to graduate school office.
9) The department of Biology
Applicant who does not meet the conditions 1) to 3), can be enrolled in the graduate school as a
conditional admission. In this case, the applicant needs to complete Korean language courses of
the International Education and submit the related certificates to graduate school office.
10) The department of East/West Medicine
You have to obtain the conditions 1) to 3) (Korean language ability), obtained or expected
Medical License or Korean medical license
11) The department of Medical Engineering
Applicant who does not meet the conditions 1) to 3), can be enrolled in the graduate school as a
conditional admission. In this case, the applicant needs to complete Korean language courses of
the International Education and submit the related certificates to graduate school office.
Global Campus
1) All applicants must meet TOPIK level 4 or above it.(Those who do not meet the requirement have
to take additional Korean language courses in the language center on campus.)
2) Graduated (Bachelor's degree or higher) with Korean major in a foreign country
3) Attended university or graduate school in Korea for more than 2 years

04.Quota
· A limited number of students is accepted to each academic department or program.
· The department may refuse to accept students if none of the applicants fulfills the department's
criteria. (Criteria may vary by departments)
· An overall evaluation will be made based on the submitted documents and the interview.
· Some departments will may hold additional interview or performance test.
* Applicants must have a direct interview with a chairman or professor of the department.
* Only in special cases (applicants residing outside of Korea) applicants can have interview by
videophone.

Important Notes
· Applicant can submit an application to one department and one campus only.
(If you apply to both campuses, admission will be canceled.)
· Please check to see if your documents have arrived at the office. (Kyung Hee university is NOT
responsible for the loss of documents when submitting via mail.)
· The campus, department (Major) and course must be filled out exactly. If they are incorrectly written,
the applicant cannot revise the application after admission.
· All documents must be originals accompanied by translations and notarization in Korean or English, if
it is written in another language.
- If original documents are unable to be reissued and the applicant wants to submit copied
documents, applicant must bring the original copy to compare the copy to the original for
certification.
- Every submitted document must be the ones issued after July 12th, 2017.
· Submitted documents and application fee are not refundable under any circumstance.
· If any ineligible/unqualifying factors are found during screening, the applicant will be expelled from
the admission.
· An applicant submitting the Certificate of Entry & Departure Records should submit a full record from
birth until now. Any false records or double passports will result in the revocation of the application
and admission even after matriculation.
· Students who have not graduated at the time of application must submit a certificate of graduation
by 2018. February. 23(Fri). Otherwise the admission will be canceled.
· According to the article 36 of the graduate school regulation of Kyung Hee University, international
students must have a medical insurance upon the admission until the end of the graduation on their
own expenses. The medical insurance fee will be included in the semester tuition bill along with the
student counsel fee, etc. (International students who do not have medical insurance are excluded
from scholarships and various programs.)
· According to the article 37 of the graduate school regulation of Kyung Hee University, all international
students must get a health examination. The medical examination fee will be included in the semester
tuition bill along with the student counsel fee, etc.
· Leave of absence for the first semester is not allowed. Also, only the leave of absence owing to
circumstances beyond control such as illness is allowed.
· Announcements for dormitory application will be posted on the Graduate School Website(http://gskh.
khu.ac.kr)..
· For admitted graduate students in Seoul Campus, an orientation (will be held at the end of February)
and some seminars are mandatory. International students who do not attend these programs cannot
receive a scholarship or graduate.
· New students in the field of Science and Engineering, Medicine, and Arts are required to take the
Safety Precaution Course
A. All graduate students in the field of Science and Engineering, Medicine, Arts, as well as those who
take part in experiments are obliged to take the Safety Precaution Course according to the rules of
the Safety Management Regulations.
1) Required Time for Course Completion : 6 hour course per 6 months (online and offline courses)
2) Courses
a) Online courses : 12 classes (1st semester 6 general classes / 2nd semester 6 selective classes)
3) Certificate of Completion
a) Assessment test will be taken after the online courses and a score above 60% is required for
the course completion
b) Print 2 copies of the certification and keep 1 copy in the laboratory and submit 1 copy to the
administration office.

B. Measures to students who do not complete the course
1) Will not be assigned or will get disadvantages in scholarships

08.Scholarships
Requirements for the scholarship
A. Applicants must receive grade B (3.0/4.3) or above to maintain a scholarship for the next semester.
B. Entrance fees are excluded from all scholarships.
C. Scholarships from educational expenditures for schools cannot exceed the tuition fee.
D. International students who do not have medical insurance cannot be scholarship grantees.
(Medical insurance fee is included in tuition bill every semester.)

(1) The United Nations General Assembly resolution 68/L.20 adopted on 4 December 2013 decided that Equatorial
Guinea will graduate from the least developed country category three and a half years after the adoption of the
resolution and that Vanuatu will graduate four years after the adoption of the resolution.
(2) Antiqua and Barbuda, Chile and Uruguay exceeded the high income country threshold in 2012 and 2013. In
accordance with the DAC rules for revision of this List, all three will graduate from the List in 2017 if they remain
high income countries until 2016.

Questions about the application process
Q1. Is there any entrance scholarship for foreign students?
Yes, we have scholarships for International students such as the President Scholarship. Other
internal and external scholarships from foundations and institutions are also available

Q2. In case of Chinese university graduates, what kind of documents should be submitted?Applicants who graduated from Chinese university have to submit 3 documents in total.

Q3. What kind of documents should be submitted by prospective students?Prospective students have to submit an official prospective graduation certificate(a complete
English or Korean translation notarized by a notary's office and verified by the Korean Embassy).
Chinese prospective graduates have to submit a prospective graduation certificate(a complete
English or Korean translation notarized by a notary's office) and an Authentication certificate
about the prospective graduation certificate(www.chsi.com.cn). If failed to submit the graduation
certificate before the enrollment will lead to canceling the admission.
Q4. How is the interview process?
The interview is person-to person interview, and is offered by the department so applicants
should inquire with the department. Applicants should also check the interview schedule which is
uploaded on the graduate school website. Without an interview, admission will not be granted.
Q5. If I cannot go to the interview, what should I do?
Applicants residing abroad who are not able to attend the interview physically have to contact the
graduate school office and the related departments in advance. In approved cases, video phone or
on-line interview can be held.
Q6. Should all the documents be submitted by the deadline?
In principle, all the documents must be submitted by the deadline. However, applicants, who
are not be able to submit the document due to any unavoidable circumstances, must contact
the graduate school office in advance to submit the documents. The university does not take
responsibility for incomplete documents or any resulting consequences. Submitted documents will
not be returned.

Q7. My undergraduate major and the major I want to apply are different. Can I still apply?
After admission, applicants must take prerequisite subjects.
Questions about procedures after the admission
Q8. What is the schedule after the admission? Please explain the enrollment process in
chronological order.
After the admission, students should proceed the following steps :
1. Check the admission announcement / print out the letter of admission.
2. Print out the tuition bill during the registration period and make the payment to the assigned bank
account.
3. Reply to the ‘VISA issuing guideline’ e-mail sent by the graduate school office.
4. Receive the ‘Certificate of Admission’ (Domestic residents: receive it from the Graduate School
Office, International residents: the Graduate School Office will send it by EMS)
5. Apply for the VISA : Call the related agency for the VISA, ask about the required documents and
apply for the VISA
1) Domestic residents: Visit the Immigration Office
2) International residents(except students with Chinese nationality): Visit embassy

Q9. How can students residing outside of Korea pay the tuition fee?
Applicants who reside overseas must pay the tuition fee to the virtual payment account specified in
the bill; however, if there is no other way except international wire transfer, email (admissions_s@
khu.ac.kr, admissions_aic@khu.ac.kr) us and we will provide further information.
Q10. Is there any additional payment for President Scholarship recipients to make?
Yes, even scholarship students must pay the fee for entrance, insurance fee and medical check-
up. All students must check the tuition fee bill and pay within the given period.
Q11. I’m an Overseas Korean Foundation Scholarship recipient. Do I need to pay the tuition?
Even if you are the recipient, you have to pay the fee for entrance, insurance fee and medical
check-up fee. The refund for insurance fee and others will be processed after the completion of
the tuition fee payment. Scholarship recipients have to submit the proof of the scholarship to
Graduate School office.
Q12. Is there an extended period for tuition payment?
Tuition must be paid on time, otherwise the admission will be canceled.
Q13. When do I apply for the dormitory?
Please check announcements for dormitory application which will be posted on the Graduate
School website. The result will be notified individually.
Q14. Can the Certificate of Admission be reissued?
No. The certificate of Admission is issued only once. Please note that it is one of the most
important documents for the Visa application; therefore, it must be managed with care.

Q15. Is medical check-up mandatory?
According to the regulation 37 of Kyung Hee University Graduate School, all international
students must get the medical health check-up Students who already received a check-up at
another agency must receive a check-up again.
Q16. Is insurance mandatory?
According to the regulation 36 of Kyung Hee University Graduate School, international students
must have a medical insurance. International students who do not have the medical insurance
will be excluded from any scholarships and various benefits.
