Athletics & Activities - MSHSAA

● ALL incoming freshman enter KHS academically eligible to participate in Athletics

● MSHSAA Eligibility - Students must be currently enrolled in 3.0 credits and have passed at least 3.0 credits in the prior semester. Summer (ESY) students can take 1.0 credits towards eligibility.

● Physicals are needed to participate in all athletic programs (A communication about requirements and paperwork needed will be sent in late-spring)

•KHS offers an amazing range of clubs and activities for all students with all types of interests•Over 600 KHS students participate in clubs and activities•Major Activities/Courses include: Band, Orchestra, CALL, Pioneer, KHTV, Drama, Choir and many more…•KHS Activities Fair/Pep Rally (Late-August/Early-September 2021)

The Transition Process

● Conferencing between Middle School teachers/counselors/nurses/specialists and their partners at KHS occur throughout the spring. It has already begun!

● Parents can ask questions and talk to middle school teachers about anything (schedule, timing of events, class recommendations, etc.) in the coming months. (Spring conferences)

● Middle School Teachers/Administrators will make initial recommendations for students’ schedules based on their academic data. Parents will be notified about what recommendations will be made for some classes. (IEP services, Math, Science, Lit & Comp, etc.)

KHS Junior and Senior leaders go through a training program to welcome, mentor, and assist freshman with the transition process to High School.

• January 26, 2021: Final Day to complete online course registration for 9th grade classes
