Summit State Bank has found a home in Healdsburg. As a Sonoma County-based community bank, Healdsburg exemplifies what Summit State Bank stands for: being community-minded, neighborly, supportive and strong.
As a sponsor of many community events and non-profits, Summit State Bank is a Premier Sponsor for the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce. “Supporting our business community is an integral part of our commitment, and we are so fortunate to have an outstanding chamber that is really making a difference,” says Candy Yandell, Branch Manager of Healdsburg’s Summit State Bank.
As a Premier Sponsor of Tuesday’s in the Plaza, Summit State Bank is using their booth to help the Healdsburg Education Foundation raise funds to support music programs in our local schools. Summit State Bank has also started a $25,000 endowment fund for the Foundation to help create sustainable funding for the future of our schools and children’s education. “We are looking for $20 donations every Tuesday. Our sponsorship of $5,000 helped keep music in our plaza, and now we are looking to our
community to raise $5,000 to help keep music in our schools,” encourages Candy.
Along with Candy, Tori Lewis, Penny Ottmer and Kim Hatcher are the helpful, friendly faces that greet you at the branch on 1001 Vine Street in the Vineyard Shopping Center. You

employees, as one of the last floats in the Future Farmer’s Twilight Parade. “With weather predictions just hours before suggesting thunderstorms, we were prepared with ponchos and umbrellas. We all
lucked out that the parade weather turned around just in time for a great community event!” shares Penny Ottmer. Summit State Bank took home the award for Best Float in the Bank category for the second year in a row. “We love getting together to create something fun to share with the community. To see so many streets lined with happy, dedicated parade supporters is something very special. It really says a lot about our community in Healdsburg,” says Tori Lewis.
As Sonoma County’s Top Rated Bank with the highest Bauer Financial rating of all Sonoma County-based banks, Summit State Bank continues to prove their valuable and growing presence in our community. They are a Preferred SBA lender and are active with their Bank Local message: “Just by banking with Summit State Bank, you are helping us donate to your favorite local nonprofit. You are helping fund a loan for the new business in town. Your money is reinvested into your community,” explains Kim Hatcher.
Come say hello next time you are enjoying music in the plaza, or stop in anytime, and see how Summit State Bank will change the way you look at what your bank can really do for you.

European Grapevine MothLobesia botrana, European grapevine moth, was first
reported in the United States from Napa County vineyards in October 2009. Native to Southern Italy, it was first described from Austria and is now found throughout Europe, North and West Africa, the Middle East, and eastern Russia. Grape and spurge laurel are preferred hosts, but it has also been reported on blackberry, gooseberry, black and red currant, olive, cherry, prune, persimmon, kiwi, pomegranate, carnation, and a number of other wild hosts.
The adult moth is approximately 0.24 to 0.3 inch (6-8 mm) long, with a wingspan of 0.4 to 0.5 inch (11-13 mm), with the female being slightly larger. Both males and females have similar mosaic-patterned wings. The first pair of wings (forewings) is tan-cream in color, mottled with gray-blue, brown, and black blotches. The second pair of wings is gray with a fringed border. The wings are held in a bell shape over the abdomen when at rest.
Treatment of the first generation is recommended if populations are high or if treatments are conducted on an area-wide basis. Under California conditions, control of both
first and second generations may be warranted, given that this is a newly introduced pest. Insecticides are less effective after bunch closure. Several reduced-risk insecticides are registered for use in grapes to control tortricid larvae. These include insect growth regulators, spinosyns, and Bacillus thuringiensis.

“On May 26th I had the opportunity to serve as the Business Sponsor for the annual News at Noon venue at Seghesio Family Vineyards. Due to the significant interest in that particular agenda and the McGuire/Fudge debate, the event was sold out and provided a great forum to address 100 local players and community members of the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce.
The News at Noon events are attended by a wide diversity of
individuals and business members that represent the greater S o n o m a County area and is not limited to Healdsburg alone. At any
given program throughout the year one can expect to meet bank presidents, healthcare CEO’s and elected officials. It is a wonderful exposure to the veritable “Movers and Shakers” of our local business community.
For $300.00, a business sponsor is entitled to place personalized materials at each place setting and is given three
minutes to provide a highly personalized overview of the business or service. I chose a very focused presentation of what distinguishes my firm from the rest of Wall Street and by the comments and two referrals that I
received it was definitely worth the small payment to the Chamber.
I would highly recommend that chamber business members consider this opportunity for increased networking and visibility.”
