They were like Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration: "It's good to be here."

We cannot become what we want to be by remaining what we are. Max DePree

4

We all have a comfort zone where everything feels safe and familiar. We tend to not want to venture beyond it, however if we allow ourselves to stay there we will not be challenged, experience personal growth, or learn new and exciting things. In other words, we would stagnate.

2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. 3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slackslack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?

5

Slack is notnot a complimentary word.

A sluggard is slack.

Slack means lazylazy and irresponsibleirresponsible.

Proverbs 6 (NIV) 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! 7 It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

6

Apply these Truths to our spiritual lifespiritual life.

We need to get upget up and get goingget going.

SpiritualSpiritual poverty and malnutrition is the worst.

We must dodo what we know to do, allall the time.Never be slack, but always diligent.

Proverbs 26 13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

7

We must not be fearfulfearful to step out.

GreaterGreater is He Who is in us than He that is in the world.

Proverbs 20 4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing. (Conditions are never just right.)

8

Proverbs 10 26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

Joshua 22 5 But take diligent heed to dodiligent heed to do the Com-mandment and the Law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to lovelove the Lord your God, and to walkwalk in all His Ways, and to keepkeep His Com-mandments, and to cleavecleave unto Him, and to serve Him with all your heartall your heart and with all your all your soulsoul.

9

Colossians 3 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartilyheartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 KnowingKnowing that of the LordLord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Never work just to "get it over with".

There's no such thing as, "That's good enough."

10

To please the Lord, we must give our very best best efforteffort at everything we do, all the time.

That is diligence!

All else is slack.

We do not do not work for the money, nor praises of men.

11

We work for the Lord, and He gives us our reward.

12

If it's not fit to offer to the Lord, it's not fit

for anything.

Best work

4-9 Joshua sent three men from each of the 7 remaining tribes to map out the land.

13

10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions. 11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
