The Marvin Residence
Situated in Black Rock Country Club, the Marvin’s were looking for an expansion of their outdoor living space. The Yavorsky Residence
Situated on Boston Harbor, the Yavorsky’s were looking for an updated back patio. The pavers were deteriorating and the retaining wall was barely holding together. Full of mistakes from a previous homeowners do-it-yourself projects, the proposed work doubled in size over the course of construction. Although it took time, the final product was well worth the wait.

The current conditions along the Boylston Street edge of The Boston Common are not taking advantage of the existing plant material . Drainage issues cause large puddles, while compacted roots are struggling to survive. Phase 1 of this project is constructing a french drain along the edge of the walkway, allowing water to infiltrate into the crowded planting bed. Phase 2 is reworking the existing vegetation, removing a few unsightly plants for the long term health of the larger specimens.

Alleys of Sugar Maples and Japanese Stewartia line the central greenway keeping the historical New England green form. The Central public space and residential island are constructed from granite harvested by the local quarry. This pedestrian island maintains the natural concentrated flow of the site while bringing residents closer to the elements.

Catch and FetchProject Location: Granby, Massachusetts
Project Type: A local couple requested a defined agility course for their weekend dog camp. The current condition’s offer open views onto meadow grass with no defined front to the house as well as no private space for the couple.
Outline: Groupings of Quaking Aspen and River Birches separate the public and private areas of the home with three tiers of patio space. The new driveway leads to a trellis off of the garage with a costumer parking area. This new sweep brings clients and house guests to the true front door.
Currently the driveway leads to the garage and back door, giving the wrong impression to house guests and potential clients.
