Food and Water• Root• Sometimes eats tree bark• Weight 300 pounds• Eats in the morning and late afternoon• Elephants travel for food and water• 50 gallons of water a day

Daily Behavior• Walks around to find food• Eats 16 hours a day• Each day care for old• Young play around• Predators are tigers, lions, humans, and hyenas

Family Structures• Oldest females are leaders• A family is only females and babies• Elephants pee when a baby is born• Males go make their own herd• Each herd is 6 to 12 elephants

Interesting Facts• Uses mud as sunscreen• Humans cut elephants tusk off to make piano keys and for

jewelry• Elephants gives hugs with trunks• Elephants uses trunks to suck up water and shoots it on it’s

back to shower it’s self
