It Can Be Done

Ilio Durandiszanmi02136@gmail.comwww.haitibioscience.com

Five Years ago, Haiti was hit by a major earthquake

More than 250,000 people feared dead A few months later, the country was hit by a

cholera epidemic which killed another 8,000+

Haiti has no equivalent of a CDC, FDA to protect the population against diseases, drugs, or poor quality food products.

Agricultural production is complicated Forensic science is almost non-existent Few facilities for food processing and

transformation From Soil analysis to Drugs Discovery Bioscience for Haiti is the real deal: Can Create Jobs that pay livable wage Opportunity for new industries

An influx of unregulated professional schools Students learning is a mismatch for the

country’s need

Very few schools have a license to train students in the life sciences

Almost no professional or vocational school of bioscience/biotech

Haiti has a huge deficiency in scientific research institute

Train, educate the next wave of Haitian Bio-Entrepreneurs

The Initiative seeks to provide the basic laboratory techniques, academic preparation and Hands-on experience in state of the art facility

Our graduates shall be ready for industries such as biotech, bio-manufacturing, Agro-Industry and beyond

Reduce the knowledge gap in modern and innovative areas of study

Train 60 students in first two years

Training that can relate and help solve local issues

An opportunity for Haitian government to create agencies similar to the FDA/CDC/NIH etc…

We have already done proof-of-concept via a pilot launch in May 2014

We have a curriculum ready to train students We have great professional and academic
