Event Highlights: IST Alumni Fall Tailgate: Annual Fall Tailgate had a
different spin on it this year. Overall, great event, with plans for adjustment for the next fall tailgate.
NoVA IST Alumni Reception, hosted by Bob Morgan
City Lights Events in DC and NYC in late April/May: Very positive turnout, and both were great events, where IST represented the university well.
Upcoming Events:
Upcoming Blue & White Tailgate in April
Alumni Relations Committee – Mark Poblete
Purpose: provide a professional/social network to alumni of the College while providing alumni opportunities to reconnect with and give back to IST.
Purpose: Connecting IST and SRA students to the IST Alumni Society, and supporting student activities where possible.
Event Highlights: Student-Alumni Networking Program : Completed another year of the Mentoring Program to
connect current students to Alumni mentors with similar career paths and goals; 16 participants this past year
Supported graduation events in May for Class of 2012 graduation (ice cream social Senior Send-off, etc.)
Upcoming Events: Starting to work with the TEDxPSU curator to identify
IST Alumni level of involvement and commitment for
TEDxPSU in March next year
Starting to work with the IST Student Government
President, Adam Stavely, with new and unique ways
we can support students in IST and SRA
Current Students Committee – Dan Hansel
Purpose: Work closely with IST students, faculty, and staff in order to supplement and expand on-and off-campus recruiting initiatives, whose goal is the increased interest of high school students, current students who are enrolled within DUS, and those students who have received an offer of acceptance into the College.
Event Highlights: Spend a Summer Day Events this summer: Supported with alumni assistance via several
University-wide events
Recruiting season is just beginning this winter for the 2014 class, so stay tuned for future events
Upcoming:
Targeted prospective student calls occurring in Jan/Feb timeframe to high school Juniors showing an interest in IST
Looking at future discussions around DUS student recruitment, as an option to boost numbers

Marketing & Communications Committee – Kristi Farinelli
Purpose: Responsible for marketing all Society messages to the IST community, including prospective students, current students, and alumni through istalum.com, college’s website, Facebook, Twitter, iConnect etc.

Sharing activities and updates from the College (@ISTatPENNSTATE) and groups like IST THON (@ISTFTK)

Website Redesign Integration with ist.psu.edu will unify the Society with the College… stay tuned.

Purpose: Collaborate with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, to develop a strategy, priorities and goals for fundraising programs for the current fiscal year and review of ongoing performance of each campaign.
Goal: Raise $50,000 collected in 5 years for an endowed scholarship.
• Progress: $60,156.00 Raised!! (doesn't mean you can't still donate)
THON Subcommittee - Colleen Cwenar
• Progress: Looking for people who want to get involved
• Next canning weekend - Oct. 19, 20, 21 in Arlington, DC
