Top Ten Things you can do to get your child ready
for Kindergarten
School Supplies
• For convenience and uniformity, we suggest buying your child’s school supplies from Lemm…pre-packaged and economical!
• Some items may need replenished, or if damaged, replaced during the school year
• Please do not label individual supplies with your child’s name on them—we share LABEL all clothing,
backpacks, and lunch kits.
Play games- rhyming, counting, memory,
alphabet…
•Teach and follow ROUTINES at home:
~Early bedtimeThe Pediatrics Academy suggests the following sleep
guidelines for children:Toddlers to 5 years need 11 to 13 hours of sleep each night;
5 to 12 years-olds need 10 to 11 hours of sleep
Any bedtime after 8:30 pm is too late for our little ones. Remember, NO NAPS in kindergarten
~Eating a hearty & healthy breakfastIt’s a long time until lunch, we do not have snack.
~Getting to school on time…7:55
Show interest in daily activities by looking in their backpacks
and folders. Please read the information.
Inform your child of notes that need to be given to the teacher.
VolunteerWe need ALL of you!
Dads, Moms, Grandparents, & Guardians can help at home and school with various
projects throughout the year.
With your child’s teacher
Teacher can be reached by e-mail, phone or notes.
Ask questions about their day and what is happening at school.
With your child
Your child forms many attitudes by what you say verbally and non-verbally.
And talk some more…
Be assured that the teachers at Lemm are loving and caring.
We, in partnership with YOU, are ready to begin a new year with your child. We look forward to seeing you all in August for “Meet the teacher.”
