PurposePurpose
Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences believes that it is important to encourage children to explore and exercise all of their intelligences.
Providing a learning environment for the student to explore and exercise all the intelligences
helps the teacher identify strengths and proclivities of the students for a certain intelligence

Process :Process :
The teachers with the inclination towards an intelligence select to be in that particular interest center – Choice and voice for teachers too!!
The centers work once a week for 2 hour period. The students are engaged in activity of each center for a
month The centers have vertical grouping system – opportunity for
interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence The teacher observes and records student interest in all the
sessions and at the end of 4 sessions provides with the inferences and strategies to enable each student in their interest area
The last month is based on the student choice and inclination – choice and voice
The strategies are applied by the grade teacher to enhance and enable the students in various intelligences
For the For the TeacherTeacher : :
Student inclination towards an intelligence is visible and builtbuilt on
Plan for the different languages of learning within the classroom by the grade teacher based on the strategies provided by the interest center teacher
Plan in the interest center for opportunities to provide expert intervention and build background knowledge through visits
For the For the StudentStudent : :
Opportunities to explore the different intelligences
Develop an inclination towards one or more intelligences
Become aware of the different languages to showcase their understanding.
Apply the understanding of the different languages of learning in their presentations
