The Intelligent Cross Dipole Sonic Tool, combining monopole and cross-dipole sonic technology, provides a detailed acoustic representation of the formations surrounding the borehole including horizontal and challenging well profiles. The information acquired is vital for geomechanical analysis, wellbore stability, and production enhancement-treatment design. Sonic anisotropy and the orientation of the anisotropy can be used to determine the orientation of natural fractures.
