Industrial surveying consists of acquisition, processing and presen-tation of geographic and geometrical information within industrial related activities offfshore and onshore. The informa-tion is used as a basis for construction, prefab-rication and mating of constructions as well as verification and control.
In the early 70’s, Parker Maritime AS (formely Bloms Oppmåling), es-tablished a department for industrial surveying in Stavanger to meet the in-creasing requests, from
the workshops and con-struction industry, main-ly in connection with the oil industry development in the North Sea.
Parker Maritime AS has continuously upgraded their equipment and has also developed new measuring techniques and calculation methods in step with the techno-logical development.
With todays accuracy requirements, construc-tions can be simplified at a lower cost by better utilisation of material di-mensions. This requires
correct construction pro-cedures, accurate draw-ings and a reliable QC system with documenta-tion during construction.
Safety is also highly de-pendent on documenta-tion of how a construc-tion is built. As-built documentation can un-veil critical errors that have to be improved be-fore the construction can be approved. In 2000 the company de-veloped a new technol-ogy for subsea metrology using photogrammetry, the SICAMS.

Parker Maritime AS wel-comes challenges and has the ability to accom-modate new tasks thus satisfying the custom-ers requirements and needs.Parker Maritime oper-ates world wide and has oil, construction and op-erating companies, as well as service compa-
nies as clients. Parker’s Win Strategy focuses employees on financial performance, customer service and profitable growth, ensur-ing the continue success of the company.
Among the typical tasks are:
As-built surveying of existing constructions being transferred to drawings for new constructions. Dimensional control during con-struction/ modification.
Assistance during offshore/onshoremaintenance/reconstruction
Continuous interface measurements during mating of deck and legs on an oil platform. Interface measurements before and after mating of several modules as well as as-built verification/ docu-mentation after mating.
Mating of constructions
Pipeline curvature, position, flange slope/twist and bolt rotation are determined according to a given reference system.
Pipe measurements
Measurement of constructions with complex geometry. Special solutions for special tasks can be provided, including windmill installation survey and other offshore real time monitoring of objects.
Special measurements
Verification of gyro and position of navigation equipment on board the vessel including antenna health check.
Gyro calibration
Procedures for construction processes stating when verification measurements have to be done, how and what has to be meas-ured and documented during the process.Accuracy and adjustment tolerances are defined to gain a final result inside those requirements and tolerances that the con-tractor or authorities have defined.
Survey procedure andoperation manual compilation
Measurements using special equipment with accuracy down to 0.01 mm.See separate sheet. (Fixturlaser)
High precision measurements and laser measurements
Experienced surveyors may enter a project and administrate all survey operations with associated documentation, preparatory planning, procedures, drawings revision etc.
Project and survey management
Review of procedures, drawings, specifications and survey re-ports. Comparison of own verification measurements against the manufactors documentation.
