INCAPACITY?

Most able-bodied adults are capable of making their own

decisions

Legally, this concept is

referred to as CAPACITY

If you lose the ability to make decisions for yourself, you

become LEGALLY INCAPACITATED

DECISIONS

WHAT CAUSES INCAPACITATION?

Your ability to make choices rests on your cognitive abilities

Should you become comatose, lose certain mental faculties because of an illness, such as

Alzheimer’s disease,

Or experience any other problem that affects your

ability to make choices, you can lose your legal capacity

PREPARATIONS

HOW DO I PLAN FOR INCAPACITY?

By making various types of documents that gives you the ability to make choices now,

while you are still able

As long as you are capable adult, there are steps you can

That will help ensure your choices will be honored should

you become incapacitated
