THA+K YOU
With 2008 coming to an end it is time acknowledge all of the people
who make CSCC what it is. Without all of the wonderful people who volunteer this club would not be as great as it is. So to all those of you who Chaired event this year or helped by working at one, A BIG THANK YOU. Every event I attended was a lot of fun and very well done.
At this time I would also like to thank the 2008 Officers & Board members. With their great leadership and organization CSCC had a lot of great events & wonderful social time. The new Officers & Board members for 2009 will try our best to fill their shoes.
As we march into 2009 CSCC will be busier than ever. By now all of you should know that the 2009 NCCC Convention will be here in Colorado Springs. Walt volunteered to chair the convention with Hal as his trustee co-chair. Besides CSCC all of the clubs in the RMR are volunteering to help make this convention a success. With all of these great people lending their time and energy to this I simply can not wait for August. I know Walt is still looking for some chair people and workers. So if you’re interested in helping with the con-vention or any of CSCC’s events please see Walt. Happy New Year Sean Pazdzior

Mission Medical Patient Letter Read by Clark Brewer at meeting I am 46 years old and unemployed. For about 20 years I had mouth disease which at its final states destroyed my mouth. I was so desperate that I pulled out 5 of my own teeth with pliers. No organization in Colorado Springs would help me for the four years I tried to get help. Mission Medical Clinic was able to pull 23 diseased teeth and get me a full set of dentures. This is a mira-cle, as I had gone all over this city trying to get help. My infec-tion caused migraine headaches, burning across my face and the gums of my mouth, as well as blisters and bleeding in my mouth. Even my eyes would burn. The poison and infection would drain down into my throat which would cause me sore throats and chest diseases. I seemed to catch all colds and sicknesses that were go-ing around. Since my teeth were pulled, I don’t get sick as often. The migraines have gone. I have no more burning in my mouth. I feel a lot better. My chest is still recovering, and I hop it does get completely well again. People that I know say that my eyes and skin have cleared up and that I look a whole lot better. I feel a whole lot better. The clinic also has checked me for other illness as well. I am extremely grateful for God putting Mission medical and all of the people there to help me. I felt like I was at wits end with the pain and the sickness, and I didn’t know where to go. Finally, one day, a homeless man said to try MMC. I did and God’s people have cared for me ever since. Thos of you who give money to keep this mission alive are really doing God’s work on earth. Thank you! Keep it up, for this place is a life line to people like me. I know from personal experience that there is no place in the city to help a poor person with mouth disease ex-cept Mission Medical Clinic.

Charity Discussion Follow-up As you know from the February meeting the membership voted to retain the word “Local” in the CSCC STANDING RULES AND GENERAL POLICIES. At the March meeting someone noted that “Local” is not defined in the CSCC STANDING RULES AND GENERAL POLICIES so this needs to be re-addressed with the membership. Someone also wanted to know if local was city limits or mailing address (ZIP codes). Someone else also wanted to know why Fountain and Security were not included as “Local”. Obviously they were not at the Feb meeting. I am not sure where to go with this subject, so we need to discuss this at the April Board meeting. I believe Rob omitted the Charity Discussion from the newsletter because of this confusion. I personally would like to delete the word local and leave it to the membership vote at the time of the charity nomination. In this way all members present can discuss and vote whether the charity serves the Colorado Springs Corvette Clubs goals. In this way the members who live in Fountain, Security, Peyton, Monument, Sedalia, Florence, Florissant, Manitou Springs, Cascade, Elbert, Pueblo, Franktown, and Woodland Park would be eligible to introduce their charity. These are all cities that are represented by our membership. I also think if a member makes a case for supporting his or her favorite charity re-gardless of location (Camp Wapiti and Praying Hands Ranch are examples) it should be allowed. Some of our members have a direct link to cancer, diabe-tes, and other organizations that help children and adults and I don’t feel they should be disqualified because of locality. Another issue I would like to discuss is whether the event chairperson can do-nate all or a portion of the profit proceeds to his or her charity. This means the donation has the potential of leaving the “Local” area. I don’t believe this is discussed in the CSCC STANDING RULES AND GENERAL POLICIES.
