Connerton is hosting its third an-nual 10K, 5K and Kids’ Fun Run onSaturday, Nov. 5, at the community’stown center in north Land O’ Lakes.The course is well-marked and fea-tures smooth-surfaced, widesidewalks that wind through thisbeautiful, master-planned communitywhere conservation and natureabounds.

The certified, USATF course is forrunners who want to record their timesand establish a personal best. It is alsoperfect for those wanting to run for funand to challenge their personal stami-na and distance ability.

“Connerton enjoys hosting theseraces and welcomes the public thisopportunity to experience the exhila-ration of an early morning run,” saidStew Gibbons, president of Connertonas well as a longtime resident of thecommunity.

“We encourage you to put on yourrunning shoes, grab an energy snack,and bottle of water we provide beforeand after the run, and challenge yourfamily and neighbors to join you. It’s agreat way to get your friends movingand enjoying an autumn Florida dayin the great outdoors!”

Runners receive T-shirts and racemedals, and top finishers in all agegroups receive trophies. All 5K and10K runners are entered into a rafflefor fantastic prizes, gift certificates,

electronics and more.With the Connerton Challenge tak-

ing place close to Veterans Day, this isthe third year that proceeds from therun will be donated to OperationHelping Hand, a project of the TampaChapter of Military OfficersAssociation of America.

Operation Helping Hand helps thefamilies of wounded and injured vet-

erans during their stay in Tampa Bay.The volunteer organization uses 96percent of the monies it collects tobenefit veterans and their families.

themselves “towns,” the criteria for re-ceiving this prestigious designationrequires that the community meetsspecific criteria that includes residen-tial housing, educational andrecreational facilities, plus retail andcommercial business opportunitiesthat contribute to an employmentbase within a designated geographicarea.

Unlike other master planned com-munities, Connerton’s master plan isreviewed on an annual or biennialbasis to ensure that these criteria arebeing met in a timely manner.
