It is my pleasure to personally invite you to attend the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) and
Mining Ministerial Summit from 22 to 26 September 2014 in Melbourne, Australia. Three of Australia’s leading industry associations, the Minerals Council of Australia, the Australasian Institute of Mining
and Metallurgy (AusIMM), and Austmine, are collaborating to deliver a comprehensive event designed to address every
facet of the mining and mining services industries. I would encompanies to join you in Melbourne for IMARC. The conference will offer nine streams, including the Mining Ministerial Summit. The Mining Ministerial Summit will
promote global mining policy and regulation excellence, and is an opportunity for senior government representatives to
network with their international counterparts to develop joint initiatives and partnerships.Melbourne is the capital of the state of Victoria and the birthplace of mining in Australia, dating back to our gold rushes of
the 1850’s. The city remains a hub for mining and mining services with iconic mining companies including BHP Billiton,
Rio Tinto, Oz Minerals, MMG Ltd, Newcrest Mining and Orica calling Melbourne home. Melbourne is also Australia’s connected mining, equipment, technology and services
industry.
I encourage you to take advantage of some of the great experiences that Melbourne and Victoria offer while you are here.
The city has a distinct atmosphere, owing to its multicultural population, vibrant food and wine culture, its status as the
sporting capital of Australia, its location as a coastal city, and its unique architectural heritage.only to hear about the latest developments in the
global industry, but to learn more about what Australia has to offer and make connections that will open doors to new
opportunities.
I look forward to meeting with you at IMARC this September.Yours sincerely
The Hon Peter Ryan MP
Deputy Premier

WORKSHOP LEADER: Peyvand Bayzae, CFA, Founder, MINING VALUATION RESEARCH
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:Mining, development and exploration companies, institutional investors, business development, corporate finance, investors, analysts, bankers, geologist & geoscientists, CEOs, CFOs, Chief Development Officers, M&A staff.
WORKSHOP OUTLINE: Mining Valuation Research is a proprietary screening and valuation tool aiming to address the business development and corporate finance needs of miners and those performing due diligence investigations in the sector. In contrast to traditional financial research, the approach focuses on breadth rather than depth and primarily addresses the question of what the prevailing valuations are (rather than what they should be). The research currently covers over 70 international listed gold miners and developers and the presented analysis will be likely based on market closing prices of September 12th, 2014.
The workshop will aim to cover:
1. Introduction to the research constituents: review basic features such as geographic focus, resource & reserve scale, grades, delineations, and management guidanceonproductionandcostsaswellasoperationsconfigurationandDCFassumptions, if relevant;
2. Prevailing Valuations: illustrate the valuation multiples on both by-product and co-product basis outlining the miners impacted and the magnitude of the impact for each;
3. Regional Perspective: consider the valuations on a regional basis, illustrating the differences of prevailing multiples in Africa versus the Americas versus Australasia/Eurasia;
4. Peer Comparisons: compare factors that could impact valuations looking separately at the majors, intermediates and other producers as well as developers;
5.TechnicalReports&CashflowModellingofLifeofMineSchedules:forsomethathavedisclosedLoMschedules,firstpasscashflowprojectionscanresultinothermeasures:a. Total Capital / Recoverable Oz over LoM;b. Implied Discount Rate;
6. Exploration Premium: leading on from the implied discount rates, an anomalous observation is made, highlighting that the implied discount rates associated with developers fall, on average, below that of the producers, postulating it as areflectionofvalueattributedbythemarketstothe“hope”fordiscoveryandexploration success.
7. Multiples Decomposition: explains the why behind how the multiples are configured,demonstrating:a. resource conversion as the link between the resource & reserve enterprise value multiples; and,b. reserve life as the link between the reserve & production multiples.
8. Difference in Research Approach: conclude by outlining the difference in approachbetweenMiningValuationResearchandtraditionalfinancialanalysis.

DISCOVER LIFE IN THE CITYVenture into Melbourne’s hive of laneways and arcades and unlock the secrets of Australia’s culture capital. Adorned with colourful street art, Melbourne’s iconic laneways hide inconspicuous doorways leading to exciting galleries, bookshops, department stores, shopping centres, the flagship stores of edgy Victorian designers, bars, cafes and restaurants helmed by some of the country’s top chefs. Beyond the laneways you’ll find fascinating attractions, public spaces, green oases, seemingly non-stop festivals and events, plus a contagious passion for sport. Melbourne is the gateway to discover Victoria and all it has to offer.
GETTING THEREArrival into Melbourne by air is made easy with 27 international airlines flying into Melbourne Airport, in addition to the major domestic carriers. Jump on the SkyBus airport shuttle bus service into the city centre. Trains servicing country Victoria and interstate routes arrive at Southern Cross Station.
