SmartBenefits is a process whereby employers have the dollar value of employees' monthly Metrochek commuter benefits loaded electronically onto the employees’ SmarTrip cards
The SmarTrip cards can be used for Metrorail, Metrobus, and most local mass transit systems.
Approximately 400-500 people have attended the six town hall meetings held this year to educate employees on the new process.
Employees enroll in the program via an on-line application.
Approximately 650 employees are in the program.
The HQ Transportation Officer manages the program for NASA HQ.
