3.000.000: persone direttamente o indirettamente coinvolte nell’assistenza
6.000.000.000: costi socio-sanitari

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is heterogeneous but in approximately 50% of cases represents a transitional
state between normal aging and dementia.
Early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in the MCI/prodromal stage presents an opportunity for interventions to improve brain health or cognitive functioning and to manage modifiable risk factors
implicated in disease progression.

21.7 % of dementia cases progressing from MCI are potentially preventable by eliminating poor diets,

2013: A new syndrome in older persons, was called the “motoric-cognitive risk” (MCR) syndrome.
It was defined as the presence of cognitive complaints and slowwalking speed (one standard deviation below age- and sex-specificgait speed means) in individuals free of dementia and mobility-disability.

MULTIPLE APPROACH TO PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE FRAILTY
Take Home Messages
in AD (Studio Interceptor)
• Neuromaging (PET AMILOIDE-TAU) per la risposta
agli interventi nutrizionali
• Test cognitivo motori «sensitive to interventions» in
studi futuri che magari considerino approcci multi-
dominio
