How to Get Toonboom Harmony

for free!

As a student enrolled here at AAU, you are entitled to a free 1 year subscription of Toonboom Harmony and Storyboard Pro

HOWEVER….There are a few steps to getting it.

First, you will need access to your SCHOOL EMAIL

This is NOT your personal email. You know the username you use to login to AAU’s website and the labs? That’s your USERNAME.

You actually have an email associated with this account, which is this:

USERNAME@art.edu

How does one access this school email address?

How to Access your School EmailWhen communicating with Toonboom, sometimes you need access to your School Email.

Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com/

This will take you to the Office 365 Login ScreenUse your USERNAME@art.edu and same password you use for LMS and the lab to login here.

You should now be logged into your Office 365 email account.

(This is also where you can access OneDrive and your sweet, sweet 2TB of free storage)

Any emails you send to Toonboom MUST be sent via this email account in order to prove you are a student here at AAU. This

includes emails about renewing your license each year.

FOR NEW USERS

Step #1: Go register at Toonboom COEYou MUST go to https://store.toonboom.com/coe and click on “Join Now”

Step #2: Fill out Registration Form

IMPORTANT!

Under “Email”, you MUST USE YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL

Enter your USERNAME@art.edu

● Please do not actually use “USERNAME” as your username in the email.Again, your username is your LMS signin, like DCHURCH2 or JDOE3

Follow the rest of directions to download the software and install on your machine

If you’re having trouble finding the downloads, you can just download the “Trial” version, since it is exactly the same

After downloading, open up Toonboom. You’ll be prompted to activate the

software using your toonboom login that you created in Step #2

After you install the software and open it, it will prompt you to either try the demo or activate the

license.

Register your account by using the login info you created with your school email

License should now be up and running! Enjoy!

IMPORTANT REMINDER

You must renew/reactivate your license once a year. You can continue to renew each year as

long as you are a registered student here at AAU

How to Remove and Add a New Licenses

If you have installed Toonboom before, and are either

1. Transferring your license to a new machine or2. Re-activating after the year expiration date

Then you must use the License Wizard to REMOVE the old license for the system to activate the NEW license.

Open License Wizard

On a PC/ Windows:

1. Open the Start Menu2. Search for “License Wizard”3. Open

On a MacFor Harmony 16 and before:

1. Navigate to Applications > Toon Boom [Product Name & Version] > Tools

2. Ctrl + click on License Wizard, then select Open.3. A prompt will appear asking you to confirm launching an

application from an unconfirmed developer.4. Click on Open to authorize the application.5. License Wizard will launch and will prompt you to

authorize it to make changes to your computer.6. Enter the username and password for your account in

the prompt, then click on OK.7. License Wizard will install the activation service. From

now on, you can launch License Wizard simply by double-clicking on it, from any user account.

Step 2: Return the OLD license

Return the old license that has expired

Then, press “quit” and re-open Harmony. You should be able to log in and that will activate the new license.

(if you’re migrating across machines, you will return the current one)
