Today we have asked you all here as you are leaders in your industries and we have grant funding to create communication materials for implantation of the HCP. We are looking to you as representatives for input on what information is best for you all to do your jobs and how best to communicate this information. So, if you haven’t already grabbed a sandwich, please don’t be shy and I’d like to start with introductions. Start we Chris go through staff then guests

HCP Status Update - briefly• The County submitted a revised draft

Habitat Conservation Plan to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service on July 26th of this year.

• County officials & staff are meeting with The Service regularly to discuss.

• The Service is taking time to review it. There may be another gopher review season.

• Next Steps

Although this meeting is not about the HCP specifically, but the communication products for implementation. I wanted to briefly let you all know where the County is at in development. Next steps: Once there is a technically complete HCP we will move into the review under NEPA/SEPA. The NEPA process will take one year from beginning the process. This will take us to the adoption point by the Board. Once adopted

Currently the County is developing information and staff would like your input as industry representatives . What do you need to know to do your job efficiently & effectively. Next we will be running through the survey that was provided to you all. Please indicate y/n. Provide comments and ask questions.
