Lausanne, is founded• 1870, Léon Walras is named Professor at the School of Law
of the University of Lausanne• 1892, Vilfredo Pareto is named Professor as the successor
to Léon Walras• 1911, HEC is created as a Department of the School of Law• 1926, creation of the HEC Alumni Club • 1978, HEC becomes an independant School of the
University of Lausanne• 1992, the length of undergraduate programs is increased
from 6 to 8 semesters• 2005, Award of the first Bachelor degree under the Bologna
