a little ‘bout me

Been in Bundaberg for more than 11 years

Love my community

• Kepnock High School was … well school

• Venturer’s Scout Leader for 2 years, which is all about Thinking Wide, life skills, resumes, politics

• Self-confessed Harley Quinn fan

• Employment is hard, even for me –unemployment rate in the Bundaberg Regional Council is around 7.26%

and there is definitely more we can do together as a community to support our young people 24

• Quickly found my feet in headspace, although nervous at the start

• Been more than 2 years now

• Established our headspace’n’chillsocial group

• Instrumental in starting BRITE our LGBTIQA+ social space

• Attended National headspace forum in 2018 – great insight

headspace can help

bring on hyNRG

My aim is to encourage more young people to listen to themselves when they know something is wrong and to seek help for themselves, not everyone else

26

opportunities galore

• 21 young people from around Australia

• Various experiences and skills

• Team input on a national level

• Participation in online chats

• I am now on fundraising and corporate partnerships steering committee

27

future opportunities

I hope to attend the 5th International Conference on Youth Mental Health; United for Global Change

Which will be held in Brisbane, from 26–28 October 2019

Registrations are now open … will be talking to local business and supporters for a potential sponsorship … anyone have connections?
