What is the Cloud? "The cloud is a set of services and
technologies that enable the delivery of computing services over the Internet in
real-time, allowing end-users instant access to data and applications from any
device with Internet access

Why Use Cloud Computing
• Bring down computing costs o Less Need to purchase expensive computers o No need for complicated networks or dedicated servers o No need for expensive software o No Cost for software upgrades o No worries about machine and software system compatibility
Why Use Cloud Computing
• Greater freedom for for you o access data and applications from just about anywhere o access data and applications using almost anything (like terminals,
mobile, net books etc). o Since the equipment can be quite basic, this helps bring down
overall hardware costs as well.

• Centralized and agile... o Use cloud computing to ensure that everyone is on the same page

o Be sure everyone is using the same processes in your company

• Safe and Secure... o You aren't worried about your computer crashing - your data is safe,
stored in redundant servers on high quality hardware serviced by people whose sole job is to maintain those computes and the date and software on them
o Security is also maintained by professionals who have much scarier thoughts than we do

• Subscription model means ongoing expenses • You need an internet connection (sort of)
