Hatfield House is the centre of a large agricultural estate with extensive parkland. Whether you’re celebrating, bringing people together or just want an away day that’s not the usual our two versatile outdoor spaces offer you the opportunity to host a unique, memorable event, large or small, from corporate picnics, countryside pursuits, treasure hunts, film nights and more.
Each of the spaces have the flexibility of using our onsite Hospitality team for catering or we can offer the option of a dry hire agreement.

With the backdrop of one of the finest Jacobean Houses in England and the Tudor Old Palace we offer privacy, flexibility and an experienced team including a dedicated co-ordinator and events manager to help you. We offer an unrivalled range of delegate packages, prestigious on site catering and distinct venues each with their own character, facilities and capacity to make your event a memorable one for all the right reasons.
Venues are available for day hire 8.00am to 5.30pm and packages ‘include your choice of lunch, healthy refreshments breaks, hydration station and venue stationary pack.

OLD PALACE
The Old Palace was built c1485 by the Bishop of Ely, John Morton. It is one of the foremost examples of mediaeval brickwork in the country and the venue’s vaulted ceiling contains most of the original timbers. It is adjacent to the knot garden and raised lawn which are ideal for outdoor networking. It is the largest of the venues and hire can include the use of PA system with handheld microphone. Perfect for award lunches, dinners and receptions.

THE RIDING SCHOOL
This venue blends history with contemporary, state of the art facilities. A glass roof allows in natural daylight and a mezzanine floor can be used for refreshments, lunch, networking, breakout sessions or exhibitions.
Delegates are welcomed in a private foyer and a built in LCD projector, 10ft screen, hand held microphone and PA system ensure that everyone can follow presentations in the best conditions.

THE CHURCH HALL
A smaller more intimate space that stands alone on the estate grounds this venue offers the ultimate privacy and the perfect location for smaller gatherings, team or board meetings, private lunches or dinners with close proximity to St Etheldreda’s Church and the gardens of the estate.

MAJOR EVENTS
Hatfield house is proud to be a popular venue, hosting events of all sizes from a few hundred attendees to over 30,000 in a day.Hatfield Park, with Hatfield House at its heart, offers promoters and organisers a first class venue for public events. Some of the special guests who have performed at previous events include Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Elton John, Jools
Holland, UB40, The XX and Status Quo. and Michael Bublé will be performing in 2021.a
The Estate has been host to concerts, festivals (most recent being Eastern Electrics and Slam Dunk), fairs, outdoor theatres and cinema, not to mention our largest event to date, The Game Fair, attracting 100,000 - 115,000 visitors over 3 days in 2017 and 2019.
Our popular large event site areas offer flat open picturesque parkland with ample parking space on the adjacent fields.
Hatfield Estate is fortunate to have:

Our current Premise Licence is valid for 29,999 persons, however the event areas can accommodate in excess of 30,000 persons.
The majority of previously hosted events, have been situated on The Queen Elizabeth Oak Field with ample parking space available on The Showground. For exceptionally large events, parking has been located on close by neighbouring fields within the Estate.
With the parkland available the Estate has witnessed various arrangements and layouts of event. The event areas are flat, well-draining and thoroughly maintained by the Parks team.

HATFIELD HOUSE
The visitor season runs from April-September, visit the house, park, gardens and woodland walks. People can explore the Jacobean house where the iconic Rainbow Portrait overlooks the Marble HallTake a peaceful stroll through Hatfield Park and you’ll discover the very spot where Elizabeth I learnt of her succession to the throne in 1558. The historical woodland surrounding Hatfield House is yours to explore with three beautiful walks of varying lengths that evolve throughout the season. The picture perfect gardens date from the early 17th century when Robert Cecil employed John Tradescant the Elder to collect plants from all over Europe for his new home.
So much more to explore… visitors can stroll around the Stable Yard all year round, an area of the Estate that was used to House the Cecil family’s horses is now home to a cluster of independent boutiques and truly delicious dining.
The Coach House Kitchen dishes up delights for all tastes. From morning coffee and light lunches to afternoon tea and three course meals, it’s relaxation and refreshment in a sumptuous setting.

Onsite within the grounds sits Lawn House, an idyllic luxury 18th Century House set within the tranquil grounds of Hatfield House and only a short walk from Hatfield railway station and within easy reach of central London.
There are 14 individually decorated bedrooms, all with en-suite fa-cilities, an impressive breakfast room and conservatory, a cosy snug and a pleasant garden which can be offered for exclusive use. Both the Cricket Pitch and the Private Lawn are a 5-10 minute walk from Lawn House.
