Purposes and uses include:

• Captures, stores and analyzes data sets on the oral health status of participants. i.e. Children per school, per county and/or region against national oral health data sets.

• Measures the types and quantity of services delivered at school events. i.e. screening, oral risk assessment, sealants, fluoride, referrals, retention rates, etc.

• Monitors yearly trends and trend lines over years.• Captures longitudinal data sets of children seen through out a school

program. i.e. Head Start through 3rd grade (and up to 6th)

• Determines cost of disease diverted by prevention measures.

• Provides data to support ‘Return on Investment’ for local and state health policy makers

• Helps guide organizations in planning, implementation and evaluation of oral health programs

• Self-monitoring for accuracy, reducing error rate of reporting, reducing incomplete data errors and auto saves by field of entry

• Formatting for export of statistical and cost-benefit analysis to help engage support for preventive dental services.

• Ranks individual school events and programs by needs and costs. (rate of decay, # enrolled in Medicaid, no Medicaid, etc).

• Monitors in ‘real time’ rate of consent forms returned (immediate feedback to assure action required to engage schools and/or parents.

• Detects changes in oral health practices and evaluates the effects of these changes.

• Measures of program evaluation include: tracking provider information to improve and identify provider sealant retention rates specific to individual provider

• Provides syncing feature for use when Wi-Fi connected.

• Helps prioritize the allocation of valuable resources in most vulnerable schools.

• Hosts ‘My Dashboard’ tools - a visual graphic snap shot depicting disease rates and services for easy understanding of information and quick data access on website.

• Averages 30 seconds to enter each child’s screening information and 2 minutes to enter sealant data screening while maintaining a 7% error rate.

• Prints wirelessly charting and custom notes home to parents on site. Customized ‘Student Dental Report Card’ with ability to provide electronic provider signatures on Report Card.

• Interfaces with all Electronic Health Records, i.e. Dentrix, Open Dental, etc.

• Expanded our oral health advocacy efforts in Manatee County with new stakeholders and community leaders. Developed strategic oral health plan for Manatee County.

• Advocated in our nation’s Capital with Friends of the AADR/NIH patient advocacy council to continue support for dental research.

• Developed an Oral Health Home Visitors plan for Healthy Start in Pinellas County for John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
