GROW LIGHT S Y S T E M
Overview and Product Catalog
Cannabis + Leafy Greens
www.IndependenceLED.com 2
Our fixtures, with custom wavelength mixes of diodes, deliver added revenue for indoor and glasshouse cannabis growers, as well as energy savings on electricity.
Proven ResultsExample: Salinas, California – Glasshouse winter production with natural light yielded .28 lbs per plant per harvest (approx 1/4 lb), but with our Independence LED fixtures, four different strains yielded on average .32 lbs per plant per harvest (approx 1/3 lb). This 14% lift generates revenue far more than the small cost of electricity during the three month flowering period. A Master Grower, was recently very pleased to send photos (above) and report that “On this pic you can see trichomes growing on the sugar trim and more cola development than on the plants without your LEDs."

Knowledge = Plant Power
Sugar Trim Sugar trim or sugar leaves refer to the
small leaves that hold cannabis buds together. They are called sugar leaves due to the high concentration of trichomes that cover the leaf with a sugar-like appearance. Because of their high concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes, sugar leaves are typically trimmed off of the plant after it has been harvested and are then used for the production of concentrates.
Coda A cola refers to a cluster of buds that grow tightly
together. While smaller colas occur along the budding sites of lower branches, the main cola (sometimes called the apical bud) forms at the very top of the plant.
Trichomes(Greek τρίχωμα meaning "hair"), are fine outgrowths orappendages on plants, algae,
lichens, and certain protists.Trichomes are responsible for producing the cannabis plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes. Trichomes contain resin glands that make the terpenes, THCA, CBDA, and other phytocannabinoids for which cannabis is known.

Our fixtures, with full spectrum output, deliver added revenue for indoor and glasshouse leafy green growers, as well as energy savings on electricity.
Proven ResultsExample: Eastern Shore, Maryland – Indoor poultry building conversions into lettuce and basil farms. Our most popular fixture is the four (4) module HB Series fixture (above) with the i-Beam form factor. We typically run six rows of three fixtures for hydroponic Grow Tables (8’ x 36’) that are often in sets of 28 for Grow Pods that include 8,000 sq ft of grow area. These pods are in poultry buildings that are 50’ x 500’, and this is just one of many applications for our full spectrum grow light technology. Fresh, local, and pesticide free vegetables are part of a growing trend of cost-effective “Future Food”.

Independence LED is pleased to offer Cannabis and Leafy Green growers a diverse
range of options to meet the specific needs of their plants at any given type of farming
operation. Each form factor includes options for custom wavelength mixes.
#1: Grow Light Rack Systems from 4' to 8' in length:
For Vegetation: https://independenceled.com/pdfs/iLED-Grow-Rack-Veg-Datasheet-6-11-17.pdf
For Flowering: https://independenceled.com/pdfs/Independence-LED-Grow-System-GS1250-Flower-datasheet-
1.25.17.pdf These systems are also available in Full Spectrum White Light (Growers choice of 70, 80, or 90 CRI)
Same cost regardless of CRI
#2: Grow Light Fixtures (i-Bean) High Bay Series
4' x 1.5' form factor that is an i-Beam fixture, rather than a rack system.
We use the High Bay (HB) housing per this spec sheet below and the variables for growers include
Veg Mix, Flowering Mix, Custom Mixes, and full spectrum White Light (most popular at 80 CRI)
HB Series Specs: https://independenceled.com/pdfs/iLED-HighBay-DataSheet.pdf

#4: Remote Pendant System
This is typically used for enhancing light in glasshouses and comes in standard 4' lengths with aircraft cable, and
all of the wavelength mix options including full spectrum.

#5: Tube Series and Retrofit Kits (External Driver Modules)
These are ideal for replacing fluorescent tubes with the LED advantages of color mix
(Lengths 2' to 8’) Specs: https://independenceled.com/pdfs/Independence-LED-Retro-Fit-Kit-Specification-All-
Lengths-8.27.18.pdf
#6: Driverless Fixtures
Any of the above fixtures come with "traditional" LED drivers as well as options to integrate as "driverless"
fixtures with a Direct Current (DC) Microgrid for advanced energy savings though a Power Hub Driver
(PhD). This is most applicable for grow operations that currently have renewable power such as solar
photovoltaic (PV) or wind energy...or have renewables in their short term business model.
#7: Custom Engineering
As an example, we offer rotating beam angles. This is a key advantage for growers that want to slightly adjust
the beam angle at the end or side of their planting beds to "tune" the PPFD distribution and maximize growth.

Price: Unless otherwise provided, our agriculture systems and fixtures have
MSRP of $2 / watt. The Volume Wholesale cost is $1.60 / watt, subject to different
volume levels by form factor.

Technology Advantages:• Heat Sink: Deep Fin Aircraft Grade Aluminum vs Thin Fin or Plastic • Printed Circuit Boards: Aluminum vs FR4 Boards• Driver: External vs Internal• Dimming Standard: Yes • Power Connection: Directly to the linear module vs using tombstones
(This is a key differentiator given existing fixtures with tombstone damage and for installation flexibility in placement for delamping.)
The external driver with the tombstone bypass is also a key advantage for “universal” utility rebate approval. Some utilities offer incentives for internal line direct divers or ballast compatible drivers, but our tubes typically earn rebates from ALL U.S. utility companies offering incentives.

PERPETUAL FOOD MACHINE Technology Integration
1: Grow Lights – The rack of light emitting diode (LED) lights are the engines of photosynthesis.
3: Hydroponics – The method of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent.
4: Aquaponics – The method that combines conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as fish in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment.
5: Fish Food – Our system incorporates herbivore fish, such as tilapia, that eat algae and duck weed, which we can grow in addition to the vegetables under the LED grow lights. Beyond the vegetable production, this system also cultivates fresh fish for human consumption, given the ongoing breeding cycle of life. A Pescatarian Diet (plant-based + seafood) is one of the healthiest ways to get protein, fiber, and the key minerals and vitamins that sustain human life.
6: HVAC – The correct balance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is key for successful indoor agriculture.
7: Renewables (Solar, Wind, Fuel Cells, and BioWaste) – Where and when appropriate. For certain facilities on site power production is required when existing utilities do not provide enough amps to power the lighting and air conditioning demand.
8: Water – Collection and filtration is an added sustainability factor. Indoor farming with hydroponic or aquaponic systems typically use 90% less water than outdoor agriculture, but collecting water is one more way to reduce the impact of corporate industrial agriculture on the environment.
9: Batteries – Back up batteries for power storage are part of the system for energy resilience.
10: Smart Controls – The Internet of Things (IoT) creates excellent opportunities for wireless and remote oversight and performance monitoring of single and/or multiple facilities in different geographical areas across the U.S. and around the world.
