This week we are going to be learning about Volcanoes…

The very first tasks for you to complete are:

TIMES TABLES ROCK STARS! Spend 15 minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars. You can practise in the Garage or use the Sound Check, or even challenge each other!

This week we are competing against Year 3! Get your battle on!

SPELLING SHED!Spend 15 minutes on Spelling Shed, practising this week’s spelling words. Complete a game on this week’s spellings and see if you can find any opportunities to use them this week.

We will be checking your progress everyday to see how you are improving!

Monday 22.6.20 LO: To interpret charts

Charts represent information (data) in different ways. There are many different types of charts. We will be looking at line graphs, bar charts and pictograms.

Bar Charts Pictograms Line Graphs

Each type of chart represents data. You need to read the information on a chart to correctly interpret what the chart is telling you. You need to read the information on the y and x axis. For example, the pictogram and the bar chart tells us that 4 children liked to play Hockey. The line graph tells us that in 4 minutes the temperature of an oven reached 70°C.

Watch this clip about volcanoes. It makes a great introduction about how volcanoes are formed, the different type of volcanoes and what happens during a volcano.

or use the image on the next slide as inspiration to write 5 sentences describing what happens when a volcano erupts.

Think about what you can see, hear and even what you might feel if you were near to a volcano.

Use the adjective word mat to help you.

You can use this image to write your sentences, or you can use the clips you have just watched.

You could use some of the scientific vocabulary used in the first video clip.

History/ICTWe looked at the Greek Physician Hippocrates when we did our Super Human Super Me topic. Can you create a fact file about Hippocrates and present your information on a Power Point?

GeographyWhat can you discover about volcanoes? We will be learning about these very soon, so you could find out about how volcanoes are formed.

ArtUse your sketching skills to draw the Acropolis, an Ancient Greek temple. There are some images for you to use on the following slides.
