Breaking the Cycle

Ephesians 5:33

(33) Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

HUSBANDS, YOU MUST LOVE YOUR WIVES.

Ephesians 5:33a

Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself

Her Needs (Harley):

• 1) Affection• 2) Conversation• 3) Honesty• 4) Financial Support• 5) Family Commitment

Ephesians 5:29

(29) For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

Deuteronomy 24:5

(5) "When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.

1 Peter 3:7

(7) Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

(4) Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;(5) does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;(6) does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;(7) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

WIVES, YOU MUST RESPECT YOUR HUSBANDS.

Ephesians 5:33b

…and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

1 Peter 3:6

(6) as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.

Colossians 4:6

(6) Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

1 Peter 3:7

Ephesians 5:25

Romans 12:20

(20) Therefore "IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM; IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP COALS OF FIRE ON HIS HEAD."
