APPAREL & LIFESTYLE
Sub-Segments: Men’s wear, Women’s wear. Kid’s wear, Sportswear, Footwear, Accessories
The apparel & lifestyle segment of the retail industry is unique in terms of its dynamics and
challenges.
The fashion industry has a short life-cycle and many of the products are seasonal in
nature. Moreover, the market trends can change significantly from one season to
another depending on customer choices. Many of these changes are driven by regional
taste and preferences, and are hard to predict or plan for.
As a result, on an average, only 20% of the portfolio of products might be fixed or core
items, while the remaining 80% keep on changing. This makes the manageability of
replenishment a challenge. Moreover, the number of SKUs is very large given
differences in color and sizes and the definition of an SKU is mostly broad.
The supply chain for this segment is unique as it is very long and the time from
manufacturing planning to order delivery can be as high as 6-9 months. This makes the
planning efficiency very important so that the products can be made right in the first go
and re-work minimized.
All this means that this segment requires a robust and comprehensive software solution that can
manage the above complexities in an easy and seamless manner. GINESYS’ products provide

We can help our customers with the integration of their GINESYS Point-of-Sale (POS) or Retail
product with any existing third-party ERP system they are working with – Oracle, SAP, etc. We
have already successfully implemented GINESYS POS along with SAP and Oracle EBS. So you get the
advantage of the GINESYS front-end features without disrupting the legacy system at your
back-end. This helps you get the maximum value out of your existing investment.

Managed Services Many of our clients, for whom IT is not an area of core competency, want to outsource the
management of their IT systems including the GINESYS systems. Leveraging our expertise and
experience in retail supply chain, we enable the application management at client’s end. We aim
to provide our customers the best of both worlds - control and flexibility over their information
systems and avoid the pain of running them.
GINESYS resources will be deployed full-time with our clients and take care of their IT
outsourcing needs that include software management, application management, database

Update Services: The update service provides the client with the right to product
updates and maintenance releases and patches released during the subscription period.

SOFTWARE UP GRADATION
GINESYS is committed to provide world class software to its customer. Retail being a dynamic industry
requires regular adding of features and processes that helps the customer to smoothly conduct its
business.
Tax environment changes, new marketing methodologies for pushing sales, enhanced customer services
and POS experience, reducing the product life cycle etcs are some of the most important areas of
concern for today’s Retailers. At the same time decision making tools in the form of reports and dash
boards that can help management take decision on crunch situation needs regular addition of features
to the software. Any software failing to do this is sure to perish in this competitive market.
GINESYS provides auto update facility to the customer where they can update new releases directly
through internet. New features, customer centric requirements and market trends are captured by
GINESYS executives and forwarded to the R&D team who after analyzing the requirement brings out

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Sensing that with increase in customer base the demand for GINESYS trained man power will also rise
and unavailability of man power will not only hamper customer operations but also Ginesys growth.
ATC is a program launched by GSL to develop a pool of manpower well trained on GINESYS Retail
Products. GINESYS provides Authorization to various Education centers who are interested to
incorporate Papers on GINESYS Products in their course curriculum and train candidates on Retailing
Technologies. Ginesys Certified Professional (GCP) certification will be provided to candidates passing
the centrally conducted examination by GINESYS.
With the dream of providing trained manpower to the customers on demand GINESYS launched its first
Authorized Training Center in Chennai that will start operations in August 2011.
