Ranking Global FTTH
Triumphant success around the world
South Korea is number 1 (penetration)
– 1st country with > 50% FTTH/B household (HH)
23 countries [1] qualifying
– Only 7 of “world leading economies” (G20)
Top 7 Global economies (subscribers):
– S.Korea, Japan, USA, China, Russia, Italy & France
– Represent > 90% of all FTTH/B subscribers
– S. Korea & Japan > 35% HH connected
[1]The FTTH Global Ranking is based on the FTTH Councils’ definition of FTTH/B: it includes both Fibre to the Home (FTTH), where the fibre connection reaches
direct to the household, and Fibre to the Building (FTTB), where fibre terminates inside the boundary of a multi-tenant building. The Ranking covers all
countries with at least 200,000 households where the penetration of FTTH/B has reached 1% of the total number of homes.
Economies with the Highest Penetration of Fiber-to-the-Home/Building + LAN

ITU-T G.657
draft15mm 10mm 7.5mm 5mm
G.657A1 <0.025 <0.75 - -
G.657A2 or B2 <0.03 <0.1 <0.5 -
G.657B3 - <0.03 <0.08 <0.15
Consequences of bend insensitive fiber:
Modal dispersion compatibility: A1 fully compatible with G652 – not important for short length
Fatique resistance parameter N: IEC 60793-2-50 speci fies min. factor 18 – >N = lower bend radius
Splicing compatibility with G652: core alignment sp lice machine settings
Connectivity losses: extra mode field diameter loss es (some >1dB) – TE test data available
Modal power interference MPII: point of review for shorter wavelengths e.g. issue for FIC’s?
Trained installers are required for correct OTDR tr ace analysis for mixed fiber sections
Mini. fiber radius function of: N-factor, network f ailure probability limit, fiber lenght,& curl

Confiabilidad o Tasa de Fallas expresada en unidades FIT (= Failure In Time) :
