Approximately onehour a ter a man and

woman were killed in acollision on Highway #5north o Neepawa, lastFriday, November 18th,Minnedosa Fire Depart-

ment was called to asingle-vehicle accident

on the by-pass west o Minnedosa. A southbound Dodgetruck lost control a terhitting an icy patch onthe Little SaskatchewanRiver Bridge at the curveeast o the intersection o PR #355. his caused the

vehicle to slam into theeast cable guardrail just

south o the bridge. A terhitting the guard rail, thetruck became entangledin the cables with two o the cables ending up onthe inside o the rear pas-senger tire.

A ter removing thetire, local ire ighters,

with the assistance o Pat Ritchie and his tow

truck rom Minnedosa Auto Wreckers were ableto release the truck romthe guardrail cables. Al-though the truck receivedminor damage in the in-cident, ortunately, bothoccupants o the truck were uninjured.

M innedosa’s curling season of cially opened on No- vember 1st. Tis year there are eight mens’ rinks

that play on Monday and Wednesday and ten ladies’rinks that play on Tursday nights. Tere are also eightmixed rinks on Friday nights as well as a ter school Mon-

day curling or the high school and junior high curlingbegins next uesday and Tursday. In total, about 175curlers are enjoying the Minnedosa Complex. “We’re o to a very good start,” agreed Jean Garbolinsky.

Tis year Minnedosa is hosting the Junior GirlsProvincial Championship in the rst week o January.“Tat’s very exciting. It involves a lot o volunteers in theclub and brings them closer together and allows us togenerate a bit o income.” Hope ully Minnedosa’s JuniorGirls team o Jenni er Curle, Gillian Lewis, Paxton John-son, and Hailey Surovy will be able to represent this zone, which would draw a large crowd to Minnedosa. Te girlsare going to Regionals to quali y rom December 2nd-4th. wo weeks ago they played their rst bonspiel inSt. Anne’s and this past weekend were invited to a new,high pro le junior bonspiel hosted by Sunli e Financialin Brandon.
