Fort Wayne Parks floral gardens have been a

destination for over 80 years. Unique and

colorful displays are found at four major gardens and

several smaller garden locations. Lakeside Garden at

Lakeside Park is a formal setting featuring roses,

Foster Gardens at Foster Park is a show-stopping

mix of annuals, perennials, and flowering trees.

Freimann Square offers a site for relaxation

downtown among beautiful flowers and a spectacular

fountain. The Foellinger-Freimann Botanical

Conservatory, also located downtown, offers a year-

round respite in the indoor gardens with 4 unique

displays and 6 floral changes in the Showcase

Garden, a jungle experience in the Tropical Garden,

and a trip to the desert in the Arid House.

The gardens in Fort Wayne did nothappen by accident. Park plannershad the foresight to initiate amasterplan for Foster Park thatensures the legacy of themagnificent gardens. Featured atFoster Gardens are 32 flower bedsplanted with 15,000 annual flowers,the All America Selection DisplayGarden, the Diver PerennialGarden with many unusualperennials, and the Allen BridalGlen with its delicate, heart-shapedtrellis. Many spring-flowering treesand over 20,000 bulbs make thisgarden a destination from springthrough fall.

y yLLaakkeessiiddee GGaarrddeennLakeside Rose Garden is a nationally recognized All AmericaRose Selection Display Garden, displaying award-winningroses for over 50 years. At Lakeside Rose Garden you will betransported to a world of fragrant romance where over 1,500roses are displayed in beds and climbing roses clamber overa large pergola. Reflecting pools heighten the impressioncreated by the roses and complement the unique mosaiccreated by thousands of lush annuals.

FloralDisplaysTucked in among other parks in the cityare smaller, but nonethelessspectacular, floral displays using19,000 tropical plants and annualflowers. Courthouse Green featuresformal arrangements and relaxingfountains; Jaenicke Gardens at WestSwinney Park is a tranquil destinationgraced with beautiful tree specimensunderplanted with unusual annualflowers; Lawton Park flower beds are ashowcase of tropical plants; and thecolorful flowers showcased at FrankePark’s Foellinger Theatre and the FortWayne Children’s Zoo accent themusical concerts and animal displays.
