ATTENTION: To all my “Grown Folks” in Orlando, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! This week’s “Talk of Orlando?” is a “hometown” R&B Artistright from our “City Beautiful”! REB’sAlbum“The Introduction” is just the influxof romance and passionate music that the current R&B industry needs. It’s time we“educate” these young folk on how REAL LOVE MUSIC is made…

Out Of all the sOngs On yOur current album “the IntrOductIOn” what sOng best descrIbes yOu?Ican’treallysaythatthereisonesongonthisprojectthat can best describe who I am. Every song tells you a little about who I am and where I come from. Starting with“TheIntroduction”,(track1)thatgivesyoumyviewsas to where I am as a man and an artist all the way to“Save theDay”(track10) that tellsyouofsomeofthe pain that I have gone through in my life but I still continue to believe in love & the power of it.
what can peOple expect Of thIs album? what was the “theme” Or “artIstIc Idea” Of the album? Peoplecanexpectanoldschoolfeelfromthisproject. My producer, Jesse Stevenson and I wanted to bring back the soul in R&B music. We did our research, going back and listening to Jodeci, Keith Sweat, Silk, Guy,Babyfaceandmanyotherstotryandcapturethatsame feeling and to bring it up to date to help people rememberwhatR&Bmusicisreallyabout.
yOu have One track frOm the album that Is beIng used fOr prOmOtIOn Of the nOvel “a healIng guIde fOr wOmen” by Jl kIng. tell me abOut the nOvel and hOw was It that authOr chOse tO use yOur musIc tO represent It? This book was written to bring healing to all of the women that have been involved with men that weren’t true to them. JL King has gotten thousands of emails from women asking him to write a book on how to overcome, be healed and understand that it wasn’t they’re fault. The “Safest Place” track written by Mr. Gregory Taylor & myself is the song that JL King chose to use for his book tour. JL King heard my CD playing in a barbershop in Atlanta, GA and asked Thomas the shop owner how hecouldgetincontactwithmymanagerorme.Ijustabout to exploded with excitement when I found out that he wanted to use that song. I always tell the one I am in-love with to “Keep Me in the Safest Place”, so I decided to write a song about it and add it to my album.
what made yOu start sIngIng? fOr sOme It was a way tO get Out Or help them thrOugh sItuatIOns In theIr lIfe. we want tO knOw, what Is yOur stOry? From the age of 5 I knew that Iwas born to sing. Iwould stand on a planter in front of the house with a stick in my hand as my mic and sing my heart out. It was my “stage”. I also sang in church. At the age of 7, I was directing the adult choir and later became the praise and worship leader. While leading the people into worship, it was my time to express how I feel toward God for all that he has done and is doing in my life. Yes, I agree with every singer that has said that it is a way out, because it truly is. I have been through some very hard things in my life, and right when I thought that there was no way out, a song would drop in my head. Then I would sing it until I pulled through whatever it was that I was going through at the time.
I knOw that yOu have wOrked wIth artIsts lIke Queen latIfah, tOnI braxtOn & brIan mcknIght. what was yOur mOst memOrable/favOrIte experIence?
Working with those artists was memorable in itself. Just the fact that I had seen them on award shows and television, thentosharethestagewiththemwasgreat! My favorite experience was with the Queen of Hip Hop(QueenLatifah)whileperformingatFloridaA&MHomecoming. She was down to earth and took the time out to talk to me before she went on stage by telling me howmuchsheenjoyedtheperformance.
besIdes appearIng at “velvet sunday” 8/21 @ tessa, where else can OrlandO check yOu Out? For any dates of me performing here in Orlando, you can check my website or my face book page for that information.
what advIce wOuld yOu gIve an artIst lOOkIng tO get nOtIced/break IntO the Industry? The only advice that I would like to give to artists is to “Go after your dream.” Don’t allow anyone to speak negative things into your life because of what your dream is. Don’t expect people to easily support your dream,yousupportit1standotherswillseeyourvisionand join you. It’s not going to happen overnight butwhenitdoestheskyisthelimit!Holdontoyourdreamand don’t allow anyone to kill it.

Is Facebook fu**in up your relationship that is the question? Well well well where do I start, this is a topic that I guarantee has been plaguing relationships all over the
world. Actually I bet someone is getting caught right now messaging someone they not supposed to or either getting slapped over a status lol! Statistics says that FB adds approximately half a million new users daily. So that means that the chances of your partner befriending your secret crush, lover or mistress and you getting caught red handed grows higher and higher every day. They say its six degrees of separation but social networks are making it more like two.
For those who don’t know FB is probably the biggest #snitch on the internet. Every single move that you make gets blasted to everyone, depending on your profile settings. FB will tell your man or woman any and everything that you do (from liking a status, to commenting on a photo, or simply conversing too much with the opposite sex). These are all things
that can get you the evil eye or cursed out as soon as you walk in the house. Because it’s characters instead of a conversation we can never really tell the persons real emotions (unless the specifically use symbols i.e. !, #, etc.) so often times when your partner reads your timeline or status they get to take it anyway they want to, which often may lead to a keyed car or a black eye.
So how do you prevent FB from controlling your relationship? Rule number one, understanding that Fb is a #snitch, so therefore you have to be careful about what can be taken many different ways. Also if you don’t want your other snooping then just simply change your settings and block they ass. But if your dating a secret F.B.I. agent that knows how to crack all your passwords, makes dummy profiles and adds you or either logs into their friends account just to snoop on you, then im sorry to say it you might as well get that ice for that eye now or just move to twitter…KANG!

Armstrong 5020, damn near gave myself that name. If you turn that name around you got strong arm. Muscle Game.
what was yOur InspIratIOn fOr startIng In the game?
My inspiration… It’s always been the ol gs, to be a voice for the hood. The streets voice.
what are yOur thOughts On the OrlandO musIc scene?
Bubblegum rappers. Anything outside Moses Law Ent. & Flyboy Entertainment. None of these ni**as are living up to what they say. Just mak-ing up sh*t. Don’t live what they say. From people that come from out of town they call us Disney so I guess they’re living up to that name. They’re all real characters like Disney.
what Is It abOut yOur musIc that makes yOu dIfferent frOm any Other lOcal artIst here In OrlandO?
Everything I spit I did. With my music I’m gonna keep living it. Other ni**as are just fake. Since a young ni**a I been doing what these real rap ni**as been doing. Living the life, when I talk bout 100s of thousands its cause I get 100s of thousands.

Born in the hard streets of Overtown in Miami, Florida, Lil Greedy was the eldest of five siblings. Talentedin football and track and field Lil
Greedy had other ambitions. He wanted to be a rapper. Ever since Junior high Greedy knew that’s what he wanted to do with his life. Writing his first rhyme during hislunchhour in the seventhgrade (98crew), Greedy got the ball rolling and beganwriting daily. Unfortunate events occurred and Greedy was incarcerated, but he didn’t let this stop him. He still had the drive and charisma to continue writing. Greedy refused to be labeled as a statistic, he wanted to make something of his self when he was released from prison. Lil Greedy changed his out look on life when returning home from prison. With dreams and aspirations to make it big in the music industry he put his mind to. Lil Greedy continued writing and sharing his dream with his family. With his family standing behind him Lil Greedy had nothing to lose. As he was in and out of the studio and recording sessions Lil Greedy’s dream began to become a reality. Doing shows and trying to get his name known by the public Greedy slowly but surely was watching his dream come true.
Rapper, poet, Jay Raw, Orlando’s newest hip-hop talent was born on April 12, 1988. He grew up in the Winter Park, Eatonville area where
struggling became a part of everyday life. Raw began writing poetry at the age of 10, long before he started shredding beats for a living. He actually recorded his first song “Be Ready”, at the age of 14 with his cousin and mentor Raye Wonder. To this day Raye Wonder continues to be a huge part of Raw’s success.
After high school Jay Raw took his talents to Edward
Waters College in Jacksonville FL, where a tragic event took place. A class-mate of his was brutally stabbed to death and died in his arms. That next semester he transferred to Bethune-Cookman University where bad luck and struggles followed him like an experienced stalker. His sophomore year he was forced to sleep outside because he didn’t have enough money to stay in the dorm rooms. Sad but true, in his lyrics Raw often clowns how he had to fight with bums on the street for blankets. But through God’s grace and mercy Jay Raw received his bachelor’s degree this past May 2011.
Jay Raw is currently working on a couple of projects. He is planning to push and shoot a video for his guaranteed hit single “Certified Freak” Ft. Carvis. He is working to complete his 5th mixtape “@Jay Raw”. On that mixtape he will be destroying different industry beats which he has been known to do his entire career. Last but not least he is looking to release his book of poems, which some of them can be read on his Facebook page under the notes tab. Jay Raw pours his heart and soul into his music and he believes “if he doesn’t make it something is definitely wrong with the industry”.
