Stanley visited some of the major sights of Wurzburg:

Würzburg Residenz: A palace built between 1720 and 1744 by two prince-bishops with an emperor’s chamber showing Wurzburg’s close relationship to the Holy Roman Empire. The Residenz was destroyed by bombing during WWII, and has since been restored to it’s original state. The Residenz was chosen as the national symbol of Germany on the country’s Euro coin.

The 7th grade toured the inside of the Residenz, but

pictures are not allowed. The palace is fit for royalty. The fresco artwork on the ceiling and throughout the palace is

known around the world.

It was built over a period of 700 years, and it is where the city's prince- bishops lived and ruled until 1719. Students walked through gates built in the 1400s!
