Malaysia Airlines Flight 370Started her journey on March 8 2014,from Kualalampur to Beijing. Air traffic control received the aircraft's last message at 01:20 MYT (17:20 UTC, 7 March) when it was over the South China Sea, less than an hour after takeoff. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, was carrying 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations.

The Indian general election of 2014 was held to constitute the 16th LokSabha, electing members of parliament for all 543 parliamentary constituencies of India. Running in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014, it was the longest election in the country's history.

It is the first time since the 1984 Indian general elections that a party has won enough seats to govern without the support of other parties.

On 20 May 2014, two bombs exploded in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, killing at least 118 people and injuring more than 56 others.The first bombing occurred in a marketplace, and thesecond near a bus station.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup was the 20th FIFA World Cup.The tournament took place at twelve venues across Brazil. The tournament began on 12 June with a group stage and concluded on 13 July with the championship match.

Host Brazil lost to Germany in the first semi-final by 7-0. Germany won the tournament and took its fourth title, its first since in 1990. During the World Cup, the FIFA Fan Fest in the host cities in Brazil received 5 million people, and the country received 1 million guests from 202 countries around the world.Fuleco was the mascot of world cup 2014.

On 8 July 2014, Israel launched a military operation which it designated Operation Protective Edge in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. Thereafter, seven weeks of Israeli bombardment, Palestinian rocket attacks, and ground fighting killed more than 2,200 people, the vast majority of them Gazans.

The space probe Rosetta on Wednesday made a historic rendezvous with a comet, climaxing a 10-year, six-billion-kilometre (3.7-billion-mile) chase through the Solar System. It marks the first time a spacecraft has been sent into orbit around a comet.

On 10 October 2014 Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi win the Nobel Peace prize2014 Yousafzai is a Muslim from Pakistan, the second Nobel Prize winner from her country, the forty-seventh woman to win the Nobel Prize, and at the age of 17 years, the youngest winner of a Nobel Prize in any field.

on 25 November 2014, while batting on 63 (not out), Hughes was struck in the neck by a bouncer, from New South Wales bowler Sean Abbott. Hughes died two days later from his injuries, three days before his 26th birthday. Hughes' funeral was held on 3 December 2014 at Macksville High School.

Taliban Assault

At least 132 students and nine staff members were killed on December 16 when Taliban gunmen broke into a school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar and opened fire, witnesses said, in the bloodiest massacre the country has seen for years.
