government funding for water quality improvements and land conservation across the

Commonwealth.

We are the only statewide organization that has a primary focus on increasing funding for natural resources protection.

Funding

VIRGINIAforever calls on the Commonwealth to allocate $833,785,000 over the next five years for land conservation.

• 40,000 acres of natural areas• 120,000 acres of working farms• 240,000 acres of forest land• 50,000 acres of historic places• 50,000 acres of recreational lands

The state has already identified $588,600,000 and must add to it $245,185,000 in new

funding.

conservation

VIRGINIAforever calls on the Commonwealth to allocate $805,000,000 over the next five years for water quality.

• $50 million for wastewater treatment facility upgrades from fiscal year 2017 through fiscal year 2019

• $50 million each year for stormwater management

• $505 million over the next five years for agricultural best management practices

The state has already identified $80,000,000 and must add to it $725,000,000 in new

funding.
