FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER THE HOLY CROSS
We shall see the fifth Sunday after the
Feast of the Crucifixion, to complete what the
Church has begun to lay before us, to contem-
plate since the Feast of the Cross:
Let's look at the crucified who tri-
umphed over death (the Feast of the
Cross). Therefore, let us carry our cross
with hope and patience (First Sunday).
Our hope is not in this eternity, but in
the remainder where eternal life is with
Christ. (The second Sunday).
And the Lord will bring great glory to
two hands, and he who endures in this fi-
nality to the end is the one who saves ...
(The Third Sunday)
Waiting ... Building Others, is the pro-
gram of work that the Christian must fol-
low (Fourth Sunday).
... And no matter how long we wait, the
bridegroom is coming! ... to build our-
selves up also:
• The Apostle Paul stresses in today's
message to hold fast to the word, and to
work for salvation with fear and thunder,
so that we may be clean and have no
blemish in us when the Lord comes.
• Matthew the Evangelist places before
us the parable that Jesus gave of the maid-
ens who waited for the bridegroom's com-
ing, with their lamps on fire. For those who
were self-prepared were decent, they
were not lacking in oil; And whoever did
not work for their salvation as it should,
depleted their oil and remained outside ...
How can we work on building ourselves
while awaiting that great day?

Maronite Christian Formation
We feel the time is right to start up having
MCF again with the children. It is very
important for them to continue their class and
to be with their church family.
Since we have moved completely to Our Lady
Of Victory at 1000 Tropical Ave Beechview we
have cleaned out the old things left and have
had the whole church upstairs and downstairs
cleaned and sanitized. We now have space to
social distance the children 6 feet apart.
With that being said we want to know how
many children will sign up for MCF classes and
participate this year. Please respond to Lori
Evans yes or no with how many of your
children will be attending.
We Need Volunteers
If you have a truck and can spare couple of
hours or more, we could use your help to
move items from the old church. Contact us
at the church office.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, in our continuing
catechesis on prayer, we now turn to the Book
of Psalms, which can be considered a great
treasury of prayers. The Psalms teach us to
pray to God in words that he himself has given
us. In them, we encounter the entire gamut of
human emotions, from praise, petition and
joyful thanksgiving to anguished supplication
for deliverance from life’s bitter
disappointments and sorrows. The Psalms
teach us that God is not deaf to our prayers,
especially those that arise from a broken heart
and a troubled spirit. The Psalmist’s repeated
cry, “How long, Lord?”, is itself an
acknowledgment that, amid our every trail
and tribulation, God hears our voice and never
abandons us. As a loving Father, he weeps for
our sufferings in this world, yet in his wisdom
he has a saving plan for each of us. The Psalms
are thus a guide to growth in the practice of
prayer. They open our hearts to ever deeper
hope in God’s providential care; they confirm
our trust in his promises, and they inspire us
to persevere on our life-long journey of faith in
his word.

Carlo Acutis: Italian Teenager Could Be
First Millennial Saint
An Italian teenager who used the internet to
spread his faith is on a path to becoming the
Catholic Church's first millennial saint.
A ceremony was held in the Basilica of St
Francis of Assisi on Saturday October 10th and
a portrait of Acutis was unveiled. Those
gathered also praised Acutis for his charity
work. "Carlo used the internet in service of
the Gospel, to reach as many people as
possible," Cardinal Agostino Vallini said at
the ceremony.
"Young people might have been tired of a
pastoral ministry that's maybe a bit out of
step with the times despite all its efforts,"
Church spokesman Enzo Fortunato said,
according to the AFP news agency. "But the
Lord intervenes in history and human affairs
and gives us these guiding lights," he added.
For Acutis to become a saint, the Vatican
would have to verify a second miracle in his
name. But Pope Francis has waived this
requirement on previous occasions.
Acutis was born in London in May 1991 to
Italian parents. The family soon moved to
Milan, and he spent the majority of his life in
the city. "There was in him a natural
predisposition for the sacred," his mother,
Antonia Salzano, told the Corriere della Sera
newspaper earlier this year.
