Ribble Model Boa t Club

February meeting - Monday 13th Feb.The first part of this meeting will be an analysis and presentation by Dave Pye on the resultsof the member’s survey. There was a high participation and the results are interesting.Thankfully, it seems we are doing most things right, but there are some areas which can belooked at.The night will be a "bring and buy night" so bring along anything you want to sell or swap, andsome money to buy anything useful. Magazines and books included.We will also give details for the Ellesmere spring show, due on 3rd & 4th March.Do not forget we are a model boat club so also bring along a boat, whether complete or work inprogress.

March 12th - Bring a model night and brains trust.April 10th Boat Electrics with Jerry Cox (note this will be Tuesday meeting)May 15th - Lifeboat true stories. (also a Tuesday)June 11th - Pond meeting and BBQJuly 9th - Pond sailing nightAug 13th - Film night/slide show - subject tbc. Possibly the Dortmund show.Sept 10th - All you need to know about electrics by Dave PyeOct 8th - Daniel Adamson Preservation Society, Tugs at Milford Haven with DanCross - Tug Skipper and Chairman.Nov 12th - Bring a model nightDec 10th - AGM and book swap.

Pond clean/flag layingAt the February meeting we will set a date for the annual pond clean up, but this year we willalso be laying flags to extend the sailing areas. As many able bodied members as possible willbe expected to attend and if you can bring some equipment so much the better -wheelbarrows, shovels, brushes, tote bags,and so on. Also bring a boat as we can have a sail onconclusion.

Fun day Saturday 19th May.A date for your diaries - the Fun Day/regatta will be on May 19th, the room is booked and weexpect a good display this year. Neighbouring clubs will be invited and there will be the usualactivities. Let us hope for good weather as in the past.

Pollux tugs

For members interested - the Graupner Polluxmini tugs are now available from "A ModelWorld", so anyone who wants to join in thefootball and mayhem/towing fun please try andget one. Much advice is available about buildingthem- and waterproofing them! You may havenoticed that they featured prominently on thecover of this month’s Model Boats magazine.

Following theAutumn clean up,it should helpmake it easier inthe Spring cleanup.
