7.4 All English Teachers will participate in reviewing and analysis of curriculum and establish vertical and horizontal alignment.

All teachers need to ensure that the previous year teachers are covering the pre-requisite TEKS needed in order for students to be successful in the upcoming year. They also need to meet horizontally to make sure that they are covering the same TEKS and using successful strategies.

Special education teachers need to concentrate on the special education population because they are more familiar with the type of strategies these students need to be successful in TAKS.

7.6. SE and Regular Education Teachers will meet prior to ARD to discuss pertinent information regarding student’s progress.

Special Education teachers need to co-plan with regular education teachers and monitor student progress. They need to communicate with each other to see if the student is being successful in the LRE with the modifications being implemented or they must decide on new strategies, new placement, new testing accommodations/modifications, or even a different test being administered in order for the special education student to be successful.
