A strong showing of support for veterans and active military was on display at Farmington Patriotic Day 2012 held November 1 at Farmington High School. The event is organized by a community based committee and supported by numerous donations from area businesses and organizations.

FARMINGTON PATRIOTIC DAY November 1, 2012

Students Brad Dow and Anna Larson served as event Emcees.

Erin Holmes led the FHS Concert Band in a series of patriotic songs.

Farmington Mayor Todd Larson recognized veterans who were in attendance.

A combined fourth-grade choir of all district students led a sing-a-long.

FHS Television Production hard at work streaming the event live and sharing it on Cable Channel 10.

Freshman Rebecca Opp read her winning essay in the Voice of Democracy. FHS Teacher Jon Holmes provided the introduction.

The FHS Men’s Choir performed an emotional rendition of “Bring Him Home” from the musical “Les Miserables”

Wayne Uptagrafft provided a detailed first-hand account of his experiences in the Korean War.

The Christian Life School Peace Girls sang “Veterans of the USA”

Superintendent Jay Haugen provided some closing remarks.
