Explosions in Belgium’s capital struck an airport and a subway station, killing dozens and injuring many more. The first explosion at Zaventem Airport went off at approximately 8 a.m. local time, followed an hour later by a blast at Maelbeek metro station, which is close to the main buildings that house the European Union.

Belgium has raised its terrorism threat to the highest level. All flights to Brussels were cancelled, according to the BBC, and Eurostar has cancelled all service to and from the city.
